Even though I have one, Discover is a complete joke of a card now. Every single benefit that the card gave worth having (price match, extended protection, travel insurance, etc) has been stripped and now they act like being able to lock your card from your app is such a great feature and a reason to have one.

Yup, Discover 5% is still great. Most people carry more than 1 credit card so it's not difficult to just use Discover during the category months and your other card for everything else.

Here in nj gas is 10cents more a gallon if you use credit instead of cash, however 5% off $5 a gallon is 25cents.
Meaning, I wish the 5% off gas stations was year-round.

I got this card a few months ago, beginning of the year, for me because I am new to credit, this was my second real credit card, it's been fine, but it's limits very limited, it won't let me increase my limit even though it's within the timeframe of doing it, getting the credit card was a nightmare, discover didn't think I was a real human being, I had to get an official notarizer to prove I was real which held up my card from being approved for a month.

The app is really confusing, when you look at your weekly monthly expenditure, it's the most unorganized chaotic layout I have ever seen. You can't really tell the difference between a payment and a charge.

And sometimes there are Discover promos that go on with Amazon, I've never been able to get it to work, I don't know what it is, maybe they locked me out from getting stuff like that,

And yea double rewards bonus. I didn't understand what it meant. You can only use it once a year. So I used that on like 3$ lol. They never explained that can be used once a year. So I'll get to wait till next February to use that.

I will say this. They have a deal going on for existing discover card people. Share it with someone and you get 100$ and they get 100$. It's something. But I don't know if I would wish this card on anyone. I recently got an Amazon rewards credit card two months ago, and it's five times better than Discover, Way better experience, Way better features, easier to be approved, way bigger credit line. And a bigger cashback line as well

Chase has sign up bonus 200 plus 5% cash back gas first year. It stack with current quarter 5% gas cash back. It also stacks with app/web offers 5% cash back on kroger gas. Thats up to 14% cash back on gas.

Waiting for target 10% off gift card deal to max out $1500 quarterly spending. For gas, Chase/boa/amex/citi often has 5% or dollar off offers so it coves most of my gas need.

Don't feel bad about the credit limit. My Discover limit has been $2900 since I turned 16 (24 years ago). I've tried to get increases twice over the years, but was rejected both times. I went from making $5.25/hr to ten times that much now, yet they refuse to increase my limit because they keep saying I've never come close to maxing it out. I never had that issue with Chase.
