I've not seen any uptick in spam calls since I got the deal last October. Just giving a data point.
I got it last time and love it. I added the Creality Ender CR Touch Auto Bed Leveling Sensor Kit that frequently has a lightning deal for $33 at Amazon.
Got it last time. Great deal

I have the Ender 3 and seems like I've got lucky with my experience compared to others.

For bed adhesion, make sure the bed is level and that the first layer is smushed into a flat line so it gets pushed into the bed for adhesion. But not too close that it's barely able to come out at all or looks transparent. It should be paper or cardstock thin for first layer in my experience.

The other thing I'd recommend is Aqua net hairspray. Specifically that one. Spritz a bit where the print will be and it'll stick nicely.

Also, if you have a raspberry pi, get octoprint setup. It's so much nicer being able to upload, print, and monitor the printer from your computer instead of moving the SD card back and forth, and trying to use the knob.

I just pulled the trigger on a Ender 3 v2 last night for $180.00 Is it worth the extra $80 for the v2?
V2 has silent motor which IMO was worth the money just in how quiet it is. If you got it for $180 (vs the usual $260), you got a deal.

Yeah, I posted the deal last night and ordered one. I think it is a pretty decent deal, not as good as the Hobbyking deal ($150 + shipping). I am fascinated with the silent printing. I've used FDM printers for the past 6 years and I'm so used to the wacky noises from the stepper motors.

How robust of a computer is needed to run one of these printers?

Also, for those who are already into 3D printing: How quickly do you have to replace spools? I know it depends upon the size of what you are printing, but I'd be interested in getting an idea as to how much you can print per spool of material.

It's a lot of material per spool. The programs that create the printer files estimate how much material it takes to print. I think a lightsaber I made was 60 grams (without blade). Each spool is 1000g (1kg). So I could make over 10 lightsaber hilts with one roll. There are other factors as well. That's just one example.

Point is, you get a lot out of it. Maybe 50-100 hours of print time as a rough estimate if you want to think of it that way too.

I had no idea my phone number to spam was worth $100.

It's worth way more than that. I've caught even Lowe's selling my information to spammers that have been harassing me for the last decade. I know it's Lowe's because somebody entered my number with the wrong name there, so the spammers have the wrong name, then I went to buy a washer and dryer from Lowes and they had all that wrong info and wouldn't let me have a warranty because it was under a different name and wouldn't change it because main office closed due to covid. Funny stuff, just went over to home depot instead

My township was the worst. They spelled my name wrong so each letter I get with the misspelling, I know it is because they sold my info.

I got it too but couldn't print with the included filament.

First the head was too low and it has no mechanism to stop so it carved through the magnetic base liner, no big deal I can buy another one. Found out how to adjust. I thought it would do it automatically.

Then I started printing a few times and the filament wouldn't come out enough so basically doesn't print just spits out small amounts of random white filament.

Took a good 3 hours to assemble! Looks great but sitting there.

EDIT: Besides damaging the magnetic bed, which was my own rushing, the printer has been working flawlessly! I am very surprised by the quality of the prints, very precise and accurate. Love it! Worth at least $300 just for the output quality. Its basic so you have to do some touch ups and add stuff to it to make it work smooth (the spool for example does not rotate easily so people have created a small bracket to mount it on the side). Will also be buying a glass bed so wont need the magnetic pad anymore.

In the era of free magazines, I used to misspell my name differently on each magazine order and that would allow me to track which one is which.

Then I could see who sold my information to which marketer.

I haven't been getting any free magazines but junk snail mail still comes through anyway.

You can also mod Gmail addresses to see who is selling your info:

Will I have an issue using the coupon by myself if my brother filled out the form and sent me the coupon?
