Yes, you can. As long as you purchase before the price increase, you can redeem each one every time your prime sub ends. I've done this during the last price increase. Just make sure you redeem it after you let your prime sub lapse.
Wow. Thanks for this info/confirmation. I might actually get 3-5 years' worth of it then at this current price of $119+tax. Likely in 4 years they're gonna up it again another $20, to $159, so this would make it that much more valuable then. Of course on the flip side, that's locking away money into Amazon that could be used/invested elsewhere. Hmm.

There is a rumor that COSTCO is planning to increase the membership rates this fall. 😟

I'm totally unclear on what value they are suggesting is worth $139? You get free shipping on everything 35+. We used to get free 2 day shipping rather than slow shipping. But I routinely wait a week plus and any promise of speedy shipping has been long erased. Which leaves a rather pathetic Prime Video library? Prime Day that offers almost nothing of actual value?

I was on the fence about renewal in 2 mos but I'm out. it didn't make sense at 119 but at 139 (plus tax is almost $150) it gives me the motivation to get out. I bet I've spent 25k there the last 2 years and between killing employees and becoming increasingly uncompetitive on pricing, I see no reason to continue funding this Co.

Am I missing some valuable perk? I legitimately don't understand how they can have so many people paying $150 for a diminishing set of benefits.

For those that have people grandfathered in to the sharing prime benefits to 4 others, will doing it this way end up canceling the grandfathered plans?
Yep. It sure will. Trying to save $20 - like Pennies in front of a steamroller

Yeah but I need my wife to have the Prime benefit on her account as well. If letting it expire will not allow me to share the Prime benefit anymore I can't really afford to do this. There's lots of other stuff tied to both of our accounts.
Sharing of Prime account with Family is not a special feature as i Understand both new and old accounts qualify for it.

There's Prime Gaming and a free sub on Twitch, unlimited photo backups, and access to a thousand or so ebooks/magazines/comics.

it's exactly the same price at $139 once you account for inflation since the last price change in 2018. I personally find Prime to be wellllllll worth its cost.
Bezos? Is that you?

NO more 2 day shipping
$20 price tag increase

what even is the point anymore?

With how prices are rising you might as well skip prime and just get the $25 minimum

will keep for now since i have prime student but thats it
Well if you can convince the lowest tiers of society to accept shit wages to deliver packages and lower the price of gas and also lower the price of imported goods

…maybe you can get your semi-instant gratification back instead of off of the back of the lower rungs of society for that lower price
