Honestly this tool is pretty useless, it's not fit for things you would use a grinder for and anything it's remotely good at just takes way too long and it's very underpowered. The only redeeming thing about this tool is the option to reverse the rotation of the blade. Other than that I'd take a hack saw, jig saw or a $15 HF grinder over this.

I have this tool and it's amazing, especially for a homeowner, enough power to cut anything a DIYer might want.
It come with 1 metal cut off wheel, 1 carbide abrasive blade, 1 diamond tile blade

If you need a wood blade, the following blade fits perfectly

Don't buy this if you don't know for sure where to use it. I'm a big Milwaukee fan, I own so many tools from Milwaukee, and this one is on the top of my regret list, and I'm stuck with it. I have a M18 fuel grinder, a lot more powerful and useful than this little weak thing.

If you're not afraid of a little work, skip the power tools and get a mini hacksaw.

Something like this: https://www.walmart.com/ip/HART-M.../970484881

Extend the blade as far as possible and the end will be flexible, allowing you to cut that pin off perfectly flush with the concrete. And it really won't take long at all to get through 1/4".
Eek. I think the steel is probably too tough for that too. The pin is in a 2x4 sitting on the concrete so it's actually high enough for me to get my hackzall at it and cut flush to the 2x4. That barely made a dent too… I'm thinking this pin is made of the same stuff rebar is made of

As a sheet metal worker, I was initially disappointed in this tool. But I ended up finding some uses for it. It's great when a grinder just won't fit to cut holes in duct - although it's slow and uses a cutoff wheel quickly. It's great at cutting standing seam S lock (or flat S really), great for notching corners when cutting down duct, good for threaded rod, etc. I bought it thinking it would replace my m18 grinder for cutting every hole I make in duct, but it can't handle that duty. But it has found a niche and I am no longer unhappy with the purchase.

Follow-up...

Home Depot just called, and said they don't actually have this in stock, so they refunded my purchase.

I just checked again, and while earlier the Home Depot site said this item was out of stock online, it now shows that there are 17 available for Home Delivery (which is free).

So, if you checked on these earlier, and couldn't get one, check again, but do it soon!

I just placed my order, so the mix-up actually saves me a few dollars.

Just a heads up... this showed up as $199 - until I put it in my cart. That's when the price went to $119.

Had to pay an additional $9 for "scheduled delivery" shipping to home, but still a good deal. It will be here later today.

For what it's worth, I used store #2204 as my location. But, you may not need to do that.

There was a note under "How to get it" that said 4 were available for shipping to my zip code (78745) - so that's why I added it to cart - just to see what would happen.

Seems like if your local HD warehouse or stores have them in stock, you may be able to go this route. I think the "scheduled delivery" is almost like a special delivery from the local warehouse/store.

Home Depot may have just squashed this deal...

I was about to pass it along to a friend, and now it's showing up only at the $199 price.

I have one here for $119. Should I get it? I don't do a lot of DYI but I do occasionally need to cut a 2x4 to leanght or split a 4x8 piece of plywood. BTW, what's up with all these tools deals?
This tool won't work for that. The maximum depth you can cut is around 1/2" . It does not bevel cut or anything like that and it's hard to see where the cut line will be. The blade spins at too high an rpm to cut wood without burning it. It's dust collection is totally useless. For cutting plywood or 2x4's, a circular saw would be a better choice.

Will this work for ceramic floor tile? I usually use a plug in grinder with a Diamond blade for my compound cuts. Thanks!

Thanks to all those saying that it's under powered, weak, etc. You just saved me some money. Also I looked at the reviews on HD and they're not that great. Especially considering a lot of the better reviews are "seed program" reviews which are total garage.

It still shows up at $119 for me. I just watched some youtube videos and yeah this doesn't have much power at all. For people that don't have a regular use for this I would just get a 4.5" fuel grinder.

That's horrible that it can't even handle duct work that well.

I'm looking to do this conversion to it:

Have you priced out how much it will be to purchase the grinder and the adapter kit? If so, what is it?

I'm interested in this as it would provide additional utility to this tool. I'm not sold that "as is" this tool's utility is enough to support it's cost but if it can be converted to a bandfile belt sander that would provide addtional utility as long as this "mod" isn't too expensive.

I agree with all your sentiments but it does have it's uses. For instance Tool Box Buzz provided a pretty favorable review due to it's compactness, ability to use one hand and cut several different materials with control such as cement board, HVAC ductwork and various types of tiles.

I'm on the fence about getting this, but I'm a homeowner that has no idea where I would use this tool. I already got the hackzall with rotary tool deal, but the only situation where I think I could possibly use this in the house is to cut out a drywall section for repair, but I was planning on using a multi-tool for that already. I think it's a deal based on the discounted price, but can any comment on situations you would use this in the home as a DIYer?
I've got this tool and really like it, mostly because I use it for what it was designed for. It's great for auto and ducting sheet metal. To those who say it's underpowered, I say "great"! The last thing I want when cutting sheet metal on a car is for the blade to bind and the tool skips out of my hand. If you need a grinder, Milwaukee makes some that will break your wrist. This tool is for one handed finesse. It also comes with a blade guard fitted for a vacuum attachment, which worked pretty well when cutting drywall. It's not really designed for wood, though there are small blades that fit but you'll likely be exceeding the recommended safe rpm.
