OP's listing is different a version that can be ~2x faster, albeit via uncommon USB port.
There is nothing uncommon about the USB C port it is the new standard and has been in use for a few years now it is common place on anything built in the past 3-4 years except for the cheapest of the cheapest computers

I'm referring to 3.2 Gen 2x2 that does ~2000 MB/s, not a typical USB-C that tops out ~1000. Try reading the description before spouting out.

That is the standard it has been renamed when USB IF changed somethings three years ago and went on a renaming spree. There is nothing uncommon about it I've been known about this.
The port and speed have nothing to do with each other. All Gen 2x2 will be USB C but not all USB C will be highspeed. USB C can be the same speeds as USB 2.0 or it can be 3.whatever, 4 or Thunderbolt; USB C is just a connection interface and has nothing to do with the speed that you get.
There is USB 3.2 Gen 2x2, USB 3.2 Gen 2 and USB 3.2 Gen 1. USB 3.2 Gen 2x2 use to be USB 3.2 which is 20Gbps while the others are 10Gbps and 5Gbps

According to people's reviews, this does not deliver the -2000mb/s speeds even on the newest M1 MacBook Pros that have TB4. Apparently it's some sort of firmware issue. It gets capped at -1000 mb/s You would think they would get this iron out bc people who have those laptops would be their biggest customers. The cost of this is a fraction of what you would pay for if you were to get extra storage from apple.

Maybe that's the idea. Apple aren't strangers to kneecapping.

Apple wants you to pay the premium price for their storage.
