True... but they could also use the devices as staging grounds to attack other things in your home network. Your best bet is to segment any "smart" devices from the rest of your stuff.

Kasa has the best light switches. DO NOT use their cameras as they don't have MFA nor do they send an email saying a new login has occurred on your account. I'm ok with a hacker switching my lights on/off but logging into my cameras

I've wanted one of these but 120 degree is kinda poor for the sensor. It won't turn on until I'm well into the garage and the trash can is right by the door so we never really go in very far. Maybe if my switch was on the wall that is perpendicular to the door, then it would work well.

anyone think this will get cheaper by christmas? i purchased 3-way, dimmers, and switches before. christmas comes and they are a lot cheaper.

I have had a lot of problems with kasa products wifi connectivity the last 6 months and I haven't figured it out yet. But when they work I really like them.

I have 14 bulbs and switches and haven't had any problems. Maybe a WiFi issue

This is related to your wireless router, and not the Kasa products. I have about 30 Kasa products total, I used to have issues with disconnections, until I upgraded my wifi network (using mesh) and now 100% of them work perfectly 24/7.

I had issues before when my mesh routers would not let them join back if they get knocked offline. Turns out it was a UPNP issue with the firmware in my router that got updated. Rolling back firmware fixed it for me. I had Linksys Velop routers. It's since been fixed I. The latest firmware.

I wasn't even aware this was an available product. I need to pick one up and test it, I like the idea of it capturing motion but also being a controller of sorts to also control other bulbs and outlets.

Too bad there isn't just a standalone motion sensor that you can put anywhere and use to trigger other kasa switches.
