If you find lower prices you can price match them and the promotion will still apply. I did it the last time they had this promotion back in November. As with any double stacking it is YMMV as to whether or not they'll allow the PM and promotion.

I actually would argue that it's smarter to wait. Why? The hallmark of the games industry since the advent of online enabled consoles has been to ship broken games to make a release date, and then patch it later. There are SO many examples of this it's absurd. By waiting for a price drop, you not only save money but end up with a better product that corrects the mistakes of the launch version to some degree.

That's true. Takes Fallout 76 and CyberPunk especially for examples that weren't 100% ready. Halo Infinite was in the similar spot EXCEPT the developer wanted to delay further. You make a good point.

But then there are certain games out there that doesn't justify the value of waiting for a measly discount especially by Nintendo. I don't get why it is so smart for some users here to say out loud here ie "Im gonna wait years to save $(insert amount)" because it too expensive, not my cup of tea, and such. With that kind of logic, it overshadows what they really like/want out of the game.

I mean come on, why wait for $10 discount if you know you for example like Pokemon and the recent release is well perceived to appreciate. I argue it more of a consumer behavior problem such as FOMO or have giant backlog of unplayed brand new sealed unopen games; not Nintendo's reluctant to stay at $60 for months.

It's All comes down to be really be honest to him/herself.

Not gonna lie, I enjoy debating this topic with you!

Lol. Well I'd say that obviously, no strategy is suited to all situations, even waiting. I'll point out, though, that citing Nintendo games as an example of why waiting isn't worth it is outside the normal for the industry, for two main reasons: first, Nintendo pretty much never ships games that are broken out of the box; second, Nintendo games rarely get large price cuts because they tend to release games at a very high quality bar, so they're usually worth the asking price on day one, standing head and shoulders above competition in the genre. Breath of the wild is a perfect example.

I see literal bargain bins every single time I go to best buy, so I'm not sure what's happening in your area. Go into any target and you'll find a clearance endcap with discounted games, too. It's much more expensive to ship them back than it is to drop the price to $20 or less and sell them. I've seen several PS5 games at that price within the last month. You can also keep an eye on gaefly for cheap games deals. It's easy to find bargains in gaming.
I see a few Target clearance endcaps which are usually pretty bare lately. Some have a bunch of very old PS4 and XB1 games on them and none have stickers. I wasted enough time scanning them thinking they'd be $10 or less, but most are $20-$40 which ain't clearance in my book for old stuff. I didn't see any movie or game bins at my Best Buy last time I was there. It may be regional, but in my opinion there just aren't any B&M clearance deals any more. Years ago I could hardly visit a Target or Best Buy without finding something good on clearance. For the last couple years I usually walk out empty handed.

I've picked up way more clearance buys at Walmart in the past couple of years than at Target and Best Buy is a waste of time for clearance for me most times.

Walmart already put some PS5 games on clearance like the Nioh Collection and The Pathless.
