I came from a RP-250C to an RP-450C so it was a big upgrade 2 more woofers. Also went from a two way crossover to a three way crossover. I think the RC-62II is a great center channel speaker.
I thought I could help you both out since you both have the RC62II.
Basically both speakers have the Titanium LTS tweeter, the newer RP uses a softer tractrix horn material for the tweeter which is said to dampen the harshness in the higher frequencies.
You have 2 - 6.5" woofers, you would be going down in size but to 4 - 4" woofers.
The other major difference is the porting on the speakers, the RC-62II has front ports, no need to worry about space behind your center. The RP has a single Tractrix rear port, you would want to have some space behind the speaker for the port to breath properly, probably at least 10".
The soundstage on the RP-440C would likely be wider, but those smaller woofers, that would be hard to tell if you would like that or not.
The final consideration is the physical dimensions of the two speakers, one will be a little wider, but not as tall.
RC-62II: Dimensions: 8" H x 23.5" W x 12.5" D
RP-440C: Dimensions: 5.67" H x 26" W x 13.54" D
Pretty sure this is an all time low price. If that doesn't work on you, maybe you shouldn't be on Slickdeals haha

Can I make 2 towers from this 😂
Can you, or should you? 😂
I personally don't recommend the 4" woofer variants unless your room, furniture, etc necessitates it. Unless your front channels are 4" woofers (which they very likely aren't) - I'd always recommend jumping up to the 5.25" or 6" woofer models to match your fronts.
My Setup is 2x R-625FA , R-41M Bookshelf Home Speakers , R-52C and R-120SW . Feel my Center is a bit week, anyone who've used this can recommend if i can replace this with RP-440.
The towers that have two drivers, they have the same frequency response, but I always thought it was a cool effect to have 3 way for the center since there are 4 woofers involved. Again, not sure if this is the case on the RP-440C. I have the RP-450C since 2017 in my living home theater and the dialog is really crisp.
This is a great deal, I bought it @ $279 in BF of 2020. You won't regret having a better center speaker since most dialogue comes from it. I will recommend it for sure

Smaller size would mean not moving the TV mount when I go up in screen size.
Convince me I need this!
