Sounds about right. Still an enjoyable game. Reviews indicate there have been lots of gameplay improvements since the Wii U version.

Physical has always been cheaper for most games on most platforms which boggles my mind since digital should be cheaper. To add to that physical copies can be resold and digital can't be resold. Kind of sucks for folks who don't want to carry/insert cartridges so definitely a premium for that convenience.

Well, physical prices can adjust to the market because there are multiple ways to obtain them (new and used). Digital is controlled by one source and you can't find them "used" so I can understand why they stay higher.
The wild at heart is boring. Wouldn't even get it for $5. This game is fine. I'll just play it and then resell it to recoup the cost of entertainment.
** Edit
Turns out you can't play on different Switches, so only one license for me.

Just FIY, you can game share digital games with a secondary switch. So you could be buying one copy of games anyway if you plan on sharing with your son.

Having played both, TWAH is not a superior game in any way.
