Original line is the most popular of nespresso capsules. Production is definitely not discontinued and there are plenty of 3rd party capsules by Starbucks and Peets. If you like milk drinks get an original line.

That's what I read in some reviews on this machine. Not sure how to verify it. Also, if they are truly discontinued, are they being replaced with a different version that might work... all questions I don't have answers to. I see the originals are available for sale on amazon etc, so I went ahead and bought the machine. Will pay for itself after 20-50 drinks depending on how you do the math. If you buy a 50 pack of the nespresso cups now and can no longer find em afterwards, it still pays for itself. I took the risk and bought the machine.
Thx for the info. Hope you are correct and what I read on the reviews is incorrect.
Are the 3rd party capsules any cheaper that you are aware of? I took the risk and ordered the machine.
Tons of other coffee companies still sell the original line capsules. Not to worry!
That being said, I thinks the confusion comes from them focusing a lot more on the newer Vertuo line. This is all due to the huge number of "generic" (aka non-Nespresso branded) made options for the "original" line of machines. Whereas the Vertuo uses propriety technology that prevents "generic" pods from being used (at least for the most part).
But I made some Petes after that... and wow, I'm pretty damn impressed for a $70 machine.
