The 2004 changes made by Lucas for THX 1138 were almost entirely FX shots, nothing substantive. The director's cut is the only version to ever exist on home video.

There were some interesting ideas in this movie, but it is definitely a movie of its time, and I felt the overall quality didn't quite live up to its hype.
