Cursory reviews on Amazon mention fragile plastic with the grind chute and quality problems the finer you grind - - with these cheap "burr" grinders you get exactly what you pay for.

This looks like it uses the same design as the Mr coffee that I had. Recently upgraded to the Capresso Infinity and it is night and day better.

Honestly, I don't think it matters too much until you start making espresso at home. I doubt most people can taste the difference. These other grinders coffee experts recommend cost at least 5x-10x more than this 23 bucks one, and very debatable if they can last 5-10 times longer than this one, and very very debatable if it can improve the taste of the coffee by 5 times or more.

Better than a blade...but won't last. I 100% agree.

Afaik, for spices... pulsing on a blade grinder works great.

Like others have said, I expect this burr grinder will fail pretty quickly. Save up and get something a little nicer. James Hoffmann's youtube channel has a lot of resources on choosing one.

I've had one of these for almost three years. It's not going to blow you away with it's quality but it does well for French Press and even a Moka pot. Anything much finer does not do well. It just doesn't do fine grinds well.

Interesting!
I feel like mine doesn't go coarse enough for French press and is very fine for stovetop espresso
Probably a QC thing
Also about 3-4 years into owning mine

That's a great shelf life!

Virtually every one of these cheap burr Grinders & the Baratza smug come out of the woodwork. I sometimes wonder what their bean game is like, by far the most important part of the equation.

I did a lot of research before buying a burr grinder and my opinion is that if you plan to use something every single day… you shouldn't hesitate to spend more money. That being said, this did not make our final cut and we have an encore.

People asking about spices… buy a cheap blade coffee grinder you can stash in a cabinet

Bought this a year or so ago. It's decent for a cheap Burr grinder, but it tends to be messy when using. Look for lots of grounds to clean up on your countertop.

I owned this before upgrading. Consider this: if you're already looking for a burr grinder, you clearly are trying to improve your coffee experience. Don't cheap out here if you are trying to go for high quality coffee, there's a reason people spend upwards of thousands (ridiculous imo) for grinders. I went with the baratza encore and i never looked back. Quality of the grind is night and day due to better burrs and the plastic doesn't feel like cheap toy materials.

Agree with this.

Have a cheap Krups burr grinder and the inconsistent grind leads to bitter coffee. The plastic container is subject to static, and it also makes a mess because it doesn't quite sit flush with the dispenser part.

Now looking for something with more capacity and consistency.
