I am fairly torn on this deal. As far as price goes its okay as the saw can be had (amazon, lowes) for $300 and the stand is about $160. So you are saving $30.

But this is a compact job saw made to store in small places, load easy and just not take up a ton of space. You add this stand in and it becomes big, heavy and harder to say throw in your trunk to take to a friends house. Just does not make sense to me but there might be a few people who like this setup.

I have an older Dewalt jobsite (DW744) which I got for DIY projects and woodworking. I was insistent on a 10" saw but I'm pretty sure I'm everything I've done so far could easily be done on the 8 1/4. One notable downside is that blade selection would be worse.

It's not just the blade size but also the size of the table. The bigger the table the more stable and more support you have to cut large things like plywood. It also limits cutting if you make custom sleds or jigs. Also is 8 1/4" does not support dado blades.

But on the flip side this saw is perfect for 75% of the people out there. Just if they do grow, the saw will limit them.

The 7491 was available recently too. It's a nicer saw but your call if it's worth the extra $100.

Great saw for diy projects. I got this saw last year on sale and refinished my basement using it. Worked great on ceiling and flooring materials. Might not be for an avid woodworker but it was well worth the money IMO.

Probably a better deal to wait for the saw to go on sale alone. I own it and if you're using it at home you're better off with it built into an outfield table on casters to expand the table size and if you use it off site it's rather light and the stand would only make it worse to move around.

Most of this is a non-issue. The table size is fine for most projects, just not breaking down larger plywood. I mostly do that on the ground with a straight edge and circular saw.

The blade sizes are readily available in my home good stores or even on amazon. I have 3 blades: 24T, 40T and 60T if I remember correctly. Diablo makes them, Dewalt, Spyder and so on. Not as plentiful as 10" blades but still readily available.

No dado is about the biggest downside though this is based on your use case. I don't do dado's often but those times when a rabbet or dado is needed I either do multiple table saw passes and clean it out or just use a router.

Highly recommend this saw though.

I have this setup and the stand folds up pretty nicely, but you are right it does add a lot of bulk. The good thing about this setup is it easily detaches from the stand for portability.

I would agree with the large plywood I just made a straight edge jig in 15 minutes that can do any rips. My jig is 36" which was mainly setup for doors, but i can just move it down and it works pretty well for this (used it this weekend to make a 54" cut on plywood)

I keep it in a corner of my garage and love the ability to roll it outside and flip the legs down to get cutting, wouldn't use it if I didn't have the stand

The stand also saves the back! I did not like bending down to operate mine before i got the stand.

I have the stand and it's awesome. This thing would suck without the stand. It folds up easy and doesn't take up much more space. The ease of rolling it wherever I want is what I love about it. I'm cramped on space and this allows me to put it wherever I want in my garage to go with my workflow depending on the project.

This saw with this stand was $359 last June.

It is a good saw and was a good deal at $359.

I have several 10 inch table saws, but found that the 8 1/4 saw will work for most applications and is smaller to transport around for mobility.

I have found it is easier to have several table saws rather than trying to find the perfect table saw that does and has everything I need in a table saw as it doesn't exist IMHO.
