Triband important if you are using these in a wireless mesh.

Better to have a wired back haul anyway.

This is a great router with dual WAN (1Gbps and 2.5Gpbs) ports. The signal strength is pretty good if you don't need a mesh. This price has appeared a few times recently. I paid a little more than that a year ago. Note that this is an AX5700 in 2 bands. So the throughput in each band is likely higher than a triband with a similar total bandwidth.

Why not ASUS AX89X. Its price is $50 more than Linksys Hydra 6E but it is dual 10G ports.

Got one of these a couple months back and have had no issues. Very fast, reliable. I didn't bother with Merlin, just running it stock. I like the app and the built in security. I recommend it.

So I pay for gigabit connection and my ISP gave me Plume pods (2), currently getting 380mb down, and about 39-80ms in Warzone. If I got this, would it help me out? My WiFi card in my computer is WiFi 6.

I have one of these and love it. Upgraded from an AC86U when I went to gig fiber line. It has been rock solid with great speeds. I flashed Merlin, which is simple and adds some additional functionality. Currently have 53 devices connected - mix of computers, IOT devices, cameras - all work without issues.

I use a number of the features - all of the security suite, QoS, manual DHCP for Plex server and RTSP, lots of network monitoring tools, and port forwarding. I haven't tried the AI Mesh with this, but will say that my experience with the AC86u and an AC68u was that the AI Mesh was super unstable. It was a wireless back-haul, so maybe wired or the new model will be better, but so far the AX86u has plenty of coverage for all areas of the house (~3,700SF).

Highly recommend if you need high performance, reliability, and lots of devices.

This is a solid router. I've got it running as an AImesh node with an AX88u as the primary router. Between the two of them, I have a three-level, 4,300 square-foot house completely covered, with signal to spare. As others have said, you'll want tri-band if you don't have a wired backhaul for the mesh setup, but, if you do (the folks who built our house wired it for landlines using Cat 5e), this router will do very nicely.
