If the (extended) warranty option on their TV's are like the other computer items in the store I would strongly suggest getting it. For those that may not be aware, when you buy an extended warranty from Microcenter, say a two year option, you literally can could return the TV anytime within that period, no questions asked, money or store credit choice. Its that good. I buy the 2 year warranty on almost everything I purchase there. Its almost like your leasing the product from them if you end up returning it.
Unless I'm mistaken, I believe their TV warranties have recently changed. Cause there's only a 2 and a 3 year option. I think there used to be a longer option. Waiting for someone to post the T&C. Especially the 3 year, since that one has "screen protection"

I spoke to a rep earlier. Apparently screen protection is more for accidentally smashing the screen with a hammer, and not for screen burn-in.

Sounds like the tv got accidentally smashed with a hammer instead of burn in happening in 3 years time

The panel lottery for TVs in 2021 is a real thing.

OLED panels like QLED panels all have their variety of issues.

Gambling on a new panel is risky with many people having to return.

Gambling on a refurb to save some $ is beyond stupid.

This TV was $600 more BRAND NEW for a model than can be warrantied.

If you cant afford to buy a TV for more than $1000, buying a refurbished model makes said purchase even stupider.

If you CAN afford to buy a TV that costs more than $1000, buying a refurbished is hilariously stupid and short sighted.

Either way this is a dumb deal
Couldn't disagree more. Bought a 55" refurbished LG OLED and couldn't be happier two years later.

Mr. Greed, what you've just wrote is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever read. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone on this thread is now dumber for having read it. I award you a thumbs down and may God have mercy on your soul.

I've bought refurbished TVs (and most everything else, really) for the last 15 years without a single problem lol. You mad?

Do you know who the vendor was? I am assuming it was from verde toe.
I am just saying any TV or Computer monitor i have purchased in the past will have issues with the screen , scratches , dead pixels etc.
Does not matter which vendor it is.

whatever you do, DO NOT buy refurbished OLED because not just is it only 3 months warranty but when I got my B7 refurbished LG told me they do not do warranty extension on refurbished, they do not do panel replacements, and they do not do any out of courtesy warranties for those that go past the 3 months. My B7 ended up getting 2 dead pixels and minor burn in and LG couldn't give two shits lol so I sold it to someone for cheap and got me a brand new C9. learned my lesson hard way, and I get it is tempting because refurbished OLED is cheaper but you better off paying some extra for good warranty.

Wait for C2 to release in March. C1 prices will drop even more.
I haven't seen any deals for the CX so I don't get this sentiment tbh

LG C1 for gaming. If you you're a casual gamer, and you prefer better picture quality, go with the Sony. It's hard to cough up $2 grand considering the LG C1 is under $1300.
Which Sony? I lots of fps but not good enough to matter... So a guy who likes role playing games like fallout should go Sony?
