I think I can answer this. I own the Zojirushi cool water bottle, the standard Zojirushi thermos, and the 40 oz hydro flask with straw lid. I like them all and they all serve different purposes.

I prefer the Hydroflask straw lid for cold liquids simply because my water that comes from a refrigerator/cooler stays cold all day and into the next day (even into the next day), the straw makes it easy to drink a ton of water, and since the volume is so large, I have to refill it less frequently. The hydroflask dents easily though so that is my main complaint. It dents even with the rubber boot on. I have put hot and warm liquids in here too and it holds heat well, but am generally more hesitant because of the plastic straw that ends up bending. And who knows how safe hot plastic is. It'll probably be better with a different lid, but the bottle is too big for me to ever want to lift up and drink without the straw.

The con with the Zojirushi cool bottle doesn't keep water as cold as the hydroflask IMO (and is rated only for 6 hours), and you can only put cold or room temp water in it. It's a nice looking bottle with a convenient flip cap, so its easy to drink water with one hand. I bought the smaller 28 oz size thinking it would fit in my cup holder, however I discovered it has an annoying little lip on the bottom that prevents it from fitting in the cup holder in my car. Its probably my less favorite of the 3 and only use it when I need a smaller bottle.

The Zojirushi thermos is excellent for hot liquids, but cleaning the mouthpiece from tea or coffee stains is a pain. It keeps things piping hot and usually I have to leave the lid open for liquids to even be drinkable otherwise I burn my tongue. It's also great at keeping things cold, but in general I wouldn't use it for cold water because the volume is too little and you can't really chug from the lid. Also, I stupidly put Emergen-C in mine and my bottle forever smells like vitamin C.

Although those mentioned aren't included, this is likely one of the best comparison tests out there

Watched the video, it was pretty good. We've had hydroflasks for years. Glad to know they rate pretty much on the top, I've had quiet a few dings over the years but they are way lighter for hiking ect.

Have to pay for shipping to the company if your flask rusts etc. this was during the pandemic too. Not happy with their service.

I'm interested in this also. Zojirushi publishes PDFs with test data that they stand by for each of their product variants, showing the actual temperature change over time. I love mu zojirushi 16oz thermos. I went all workday a few days ago, forgetting to drink my coffee, and by evening I remembered and it STILL was burning my tongue when I drank from it.

I ordered from Hydroflask on Feb. 5. My order sat somewhere for 8 days with no movement (the message when I checked the tracking number was "waiting for Fedex pickup') so I asked what was going on with the tracking. They told me to wait an additional 5 days. I then asked them for a refund. No reply, so I had to go through PayPal to get my money back. I'll never order from them again. Just a heads up, hopefully no-one else goes through this with their order.

a lot of places will issue a label just so they can claim they 'shipped' it within the required 3 days, though they didnt really ship it yet and are playing the system, like on ebay.

I thought it was too good to be true when I got a tracking number really quickly. Glad PayPal took my side and refunded me as soon as I put in the request. Hydroflask made no moves to refund my order when I asked.

Nordstrom Rack and Amazon have Hydroflask items, I ordered a Hydroflask lid from Amazon and got it in 2 days. Hopefully the Hydroflask I ordered from the Nordstrom Rack sale gets here with no issues.
