About this deal:
This price is $42.96lower (61% savings) than the list price of $69.95.
Not at this price point. You're lucky to be getting D2. You'll need to spend more than $60 to start getting into better steels. Interestingly Benchmade this year is releasing some new knives in CPM-D2. Apparently they think it's pretty awesome (for $150+).
Agreed, on the price point for D2. I'm tough on knife deals but this IS a deal for sure.
It's a solid knife with quick deployment. A bit heavy but quite durable and the blade shape is very versatile.
Benchmade using D2 in such expensive knives is absurd in my opinion. The last time I checked they even used it in the $450 infidel
D2 is FANTASTIC at $26, even at twice that amount. It will run circles around 8Cr13MoV most knives use in this price range. When the price goes up to $150 plus though, D2 is substandard when there are steels with better edge retention and much better corrosion resistance or toughness (M390 or M4, for example) that such a price should bring.

Assisted opening via thumb studs or flipper tab, 2.75" hollow grind D2 Blade, strong frame lock, four way deep carry pocket clip. What's not to like? I almost bought one of these in 8Cr13MoV, but my fat hands prefer slightly larger knives. Felt pretty good in the hand in store. In D2 this guy should be a real winner. Yup, made in China. $1.62 in tax for me in Idaho, but all USA orders ship for free. Solid EDC choice for this kind of money, and it's a Blade HQ Exclusive in D2 if that maters to you.
Do any of these with that flipper tab, close in a different way than having to push a liner or frame tab out of the way with your thumb inside the hinge?
Something like push button, or the axis release style I like for closing, but do love that tab for flipping it open on the one I have. Just combination of it being too small with this closing method not a fan.
FYI- I bought this (before the g10 version came out) when it was first released. I found the thumb stud next to impossible to use comfortably. So if you prefer using the thumb stud it might not be the best option.

D2 is way overrated at this point. i really think they should be offering higher quality steel.

Agreed with this comment. I never use the thumb stud and just the back tab.
D2 is nothing to write home about, compared to the other 8CROMOV or AUS8 blades posted it has performance trade offs, its not all together better.
The main problems with d2/tool steel is, rusts, chips, sucks to sharpen.
I sharpen mine on a belt sander strop like the hack I am and it works, d2 stays 7/10 sharp really well, but getting it an keeping it razor sharp is a fools errand.
Love kershaws fit finish and function, the g10 and liner lock look awesome.
I am a value guy, at $25 this is a solid buy. I wont be buying another EDC but if I was in the market I wouldnt hesitate.
Just grabbed that boker sv30n blade for $55, really couldnt pass that up.

I miss read your comment, no, you will need to slide the hinge over but what I find fantastic is that both sides of the handle have the long end and the short end (four total options) pre-drilled holes for the clip so the hinge maneuvering becomes much more manageable if you simply put the clip on the other end of the knife
