From what I can tell, this is as cheap as it's been since its August '21 release.

4 GB ram and 64 GB emmc for this price range is pretty ppl meh. Reviews also mentioned that Android App did not handle the screen rotation well which is a bit silly. no l

You can buy an Asus Chromebox 3 for ~$100 on ebay and mount it to a 22" FHD monitor that you can probably find for $50 used.

That's a good option for some people. This is a nicer and sleeker product with a rotating touchscreen and other features in an all in one form factor that's preferable for many people. For use in the kitchen I'd much rather have the Chromebase than a Chromebox and a standard monitor.

Is there another product that offers everything the Chromebase does at under $400? w/ 22" rotating touchscreen etc? Aren't 22" IPS touchscreens around $300? Yeah 64GB and 4GB are not great specs but I think most people would buy this as an ancillary device for lightweight tasks, not as their primary computer.

I actually bought this Wednesday. I had Best Buy price match. I needed it for the entry at my office. We had an old 21" Android touch screen device that was so old it couldn't update. This is the next best replacement and had some cool features. This could also could be good for an older person who isn't great with tech. They are very easy to use and straight forward.

looks like it's actually an ssd, and replaceable as a short m2.

It's a good post. Don't be discouraged. If I was in the market for one of these I would have really appreciated it. Keep posting deals.

I think some people didn't like the ram and HD specs and they weren't aware the ram and hard drive can be upgraded by the end user. I would bet many also didn't bother to closely look at the specs and don't know this has a 22" IPS touchscreen and don't realize the other nice features the Chromebase has. So the thumbs down are most likely due to people being uninformed more than anything. It's very solid deal at $400.
