Buying a money order with the gift card essentially gets the cash off the gift card. Take the money order to your bank and deposit it. I had issues adding the gift card to my Paypal and Venmo which is why I went the money order route. My cash offer from GameStop was $140 less than the visa gift card. Most grocery stores and even Walmart offer money orders. Swipe the giftcard as debit and enter a pin number and you should be good to go.

I think the tax is on $500 so 100 + 7% or whatever your state tax is + 60 + 20 = 215 approx

I did this deal today, porting in a number from Cricket.

At the Bryant corporate store in SF, they had stock of the Black iPhone 11 64GB, which is what I got.

Originally the agent said tax would be on the full value, but when it was rung up, it was on the discounted price + service fee.

Overall a smooth and quick experience, though I noticed after I got home that $9 insurance was added on on top of the $60 service. Oh well, at least there were no hassles or activation fee. $177.61 out the door.

I did a metro promo back in 2020. Will the in store agent be able to see this?

Might just go to an authorized store. Corp stores are like 40 minutes away
180 days for Each ID, no matter what promo you did.

be careful with GameStop visa cards

a few reports from users in the XR thread that are mentioning the cards being wiped out within minutes of activation.

You would have to use it RIGHT away

Yeah, I just read that. Might just opt for 300 Apple dollars instead of hold onto it for higher trade in value later

Just don't take it sealed and looking new. Someone tried that in another thread with a coral xr and the guy at apple denied him because it was 'too new'

I think that's a rare occurrence but you never know. Some see that as a red flag

I was tacked on the insurance for two XR's I had got at Metro before too. I wonder if it can be asked for it to not be included or if they would keep insisting it's required.
Are you able to cancel insurance online or over phone?
