Buying a money order with the gift card essentially gets the cash off the gift card. Take the money order to your bank and deposit it. I had issues adding the gift card to my Paypal and Venmo which is why I went the money order route. My cash offer from GameStop was $140 less than the visa gift card. Most grocery stores and even Walmart offer money orders. Swipe the giftcard as debit and enter a pin number and you should be good to go.

I think the tax is on $500 so 100 + 7% or whatever your state tax is + 60 + 20 = 215 approx

That's still $100+$60+tax+possible activation fee = $160. But you lose the $50 rebate. But if you don't have the $110 XR from total wireless, this is a close deal ($50 more expensive, w/ a slightly better camera).

You don't need to do the whole 3 month. You can get lower than >$200 if you can find a corporate store by just doing the first month only. Or get lucky with an authorized dealer who won't try to screw you over.

Considering that this is a newer model + new instead of refurbished, I don't think paying $50 extra is a bad tradeoff.

If you're purely looking for trade in deals though, I do agree that the XR was definitely the better deal.

Did any of you submit the redemption form for 50$ with the store? I checked with store and they said 50$ will be received automatically. They said MetroPCS will send a text message with redemption instructions.

I'm wondering the same thing. Wonder if the metro reps get some type of notification that those new numbers are not paying up. I know they get some type of commission which is why they push the insurance. My rep was very nice even though she pushed the insurance. I was not going to let this deal get away from me for $12 insurance.

I'm actually keeping the phones and hoping for the Auto Unlock on the 180th day
One more question, if I dont renew from second month onward and use this phone with another sim (may use eBay sim card trick possibly), will that phone work and whether metro blacklist the phone?
Very interested in the deal but its only slick if not paying any more penny once walk out of store.

No, the phone only work for Metro By T-Mobile SIM card until permanent unlock or soft unlock, I have Metro 13 Pro bought October use Soft unlock with T-Mobile SIM card now, need to wait April 10 to get permanent unlock.

It doesn't matter you are currently T-Mobile customer or not, Metro is prepaid service only check ID to verify if you have use any promo in past 180 days or not.

Metro doesn't black list the phone. It should work if you get rsim etc. after 180 days the phone will automatically get unlocked based on the iPhones I have got from metro. No need to pay for your service after you walk out of the store

They get a chargeback in commission on postpaid. Prepaid is a flat commission fee plus add on services. If you cancel insurance they lose that commission. Employees are more concerned with you cancelling insurance more than anything. There are set monthly goals.

If anyone plans to do this promo, make sure you log some calls and data the first month.

After porting Total wireless # to metropc, I can't do text from iphone11 to google voice iphone Xr but calls from 11 to Xr is ok. Noticed also, calling and texting from Xr google voice to iPhone 11 doesn't work. I turned it on and off multiple times both unit, same issue.Anyone encountered the same?
