Buying a money order with the gift card essentially gets the cash off the gift card. Take the money order to your bank and deposit it. I had issues adding the gift card to my Paypal and Venmo which is why I went the money order route. My cash offer from GameStop was $140 less than the visa gift card. Most grocery stores and even Walmart offer money orders. Swipe the giftcard as debit and enter a pin number and you should be good to go.

I think the tax is on $500 so 100 + 7% or whatever your state tax is + 60 + 20 = 215 approx

They lied to you, they do that a lot. Ask them to show you where that is in the T&C
So how does one get the phone unlocked if paying for only one month of service?

I believe you pay first month in store, immediately downgrade plan to 30 a month and discontinue service after a month
1) wait 6 months for auto unlock or use rsim immediately

Keeping service for two month? I am not sure if it related to metro no porting or becos downgrading service will be a credit so u have to keep it 2 months anyway.

No, I just paid the $60.00 and immediately changed to the $30.00 plan so I have two months.
I am curious how you did it? Online or via rep or via store? I want to get xr from Cricket but I don't want to pay $60 for a month because I hardly use any data since I am wfh

Interesting. I'll find out for sure soon enough when trying the visible 5 dollar first month trial

edit: the mint mobile 7 day esim trial worked.
Mint mobile works because the mint is already on T-Mobile towers. I't'd be interesting to see if the metro iPhone's E-sim can take mint mobile if you didn't unlock it first.

If you were to try the E-Sim IMEI on Verizon/ATT and it's MVNO's, it would not work or give you an error.

I like iPhone 11's LCD screen, better for eyes over the OLED screens

If I buy this phone at $100 + $60 for first month, then cancel.

will this phone automatically unlock itself after 6 months?

Thank you

Yeah you're right here. Visible 15 day trial telling me my device isn't compatible it seems. I'll post an update here if anything changes.

Had trouble getting phone ....finally one store had it. It took like 3 hours for the process. It was last one in store. Most stores dont any.
This what receipt shows -

$99 phone
$35 tax
$76 Activation payment QPAYPC
---------
210.99

CSR was kind of evasive. He told me $76 is activation. He told me it depends on which number you are porting (mine was visible). Later told me its 60 plus 16 for insurance. It doesnt say insurance anywhere on receipt.

Shady third party stores are allowed to do business that way. How did they calculate the tax?

They should only be taxing on the amount of the sale price of the phone. The activation fee is also ridiculously high. He was lying about it depends on what number you're porting. He was trying to sneak insurance in without telling you. That's common at all stores so no surprise.

you could have saved $24 in taxes compared to $35 you paid and $16 in insurance. Overall paid $40 more compared to corporate store. Its a good deal you got, but spending 3hrs is a lot. Should have completed in 30mins max.
