Buying a money order with the gift card essentially gets the cash off the gift card. Take the money order to your bank and deposit it. I had issues adding the gift card to my Paypal and Venmo which is why I went the money order route. My cash offer from GameStop was $140 less than the visa gift card. Most grocery stores and even Walmart offer money orders. Swipe the giftcard as debit and enter a pin number and you should be good to go.

I think the tax is on $500 so 100 + 7% or whatever your state tax is + 60 + 20 = 215 approx

According to Metro's website, the iPhone 11 deal is for in-store-only.

Some states require sales tax be collected against the original price of the phone. This was painful when $600-800 phones were being sold with contracts for $200. Most states do not though.

True. I guess if the corporate stores are doing the same than it's just the way it is.

Had trouble getting phone ....finally one store had it. It took like 3 hours for the process. It was last one in store. Most stores dont any.
This what receipt shows -

$99 phone
$35 tax
$76 Activation payment QPAYPC
---------
210.99

CSR was kind of evasive. He told me $76 is activation. He told me it depends on which number you are porting (mine was visible). Later told me its 60 plus 16 for insurance. It doesnt say insurance anywhere on receipt.
If you able get two phones at same time, insurance will cost $9 each phone, phone plan will be $90 for two instead $60 for each, on the tax, according different states, it may charge on MSRP, no discount price, I know AL and MS do that.

Your math so bad, phone cost 99.99 each, two lines in one account plan cost 90, with no tax, Total coming up $289.98, how can you calculated he have $30 plan?

If you cancel after the first month. Can they claw back the $400 off that they gave for porting a number over? That's the only thing I'm worried about. I did the deal today.

And that is the rub as the store will not have it in stock.
They used to call it bait and switch,
