I'll watch Goodfellas instead any day....
Personally, I'm a huge fan of both The Godfather trilogy and Goodfellas. I tend to think of Goodfellas as being the mobster film with the greatest entertainment value; whereas The Godfather is more of a cinematic masterpiece. Both are amazing depending on which mood i prefer at the time. Goodfellas is a film i enjoy watching with family and friends whereas The Godfather trilogy is something to be enjoyed in quiet contemplation.
