T&C's:
  • Make a "Qualifying Purchase" on Samsung.com between 2/25/2022 and 6/30/2022 or before offer ends to receive a Google Play Promotional Balance ("Bonus"). Google Play Promotional Balance must be registered to Google Play account by 8/31/2022 and is redeemable on the Google Play app through 8/31/2023. "Qualifying Purchases" are: a) Galaxy S22 phone, Galaxy S22+ phone, Galaxy Tab S8 tablet, Galaxy Z Flip3 phone, Galaxy Watch 4, and Galaxy Watch 4 Classic, which are each eligible for one (1) $50 Bonus; b) Galaxy S22 Ultra phone, Galaxy Tab S8+ tablet, Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra tablet, and Galaxy Z Fold3 phone, which are each eligible for two (2) $50 Bonuses (total Bonus value $100). Yesterday you could have gotten a $250 credit to Samsung instead of a $100 Google credit.

At this point you're probably better off waiting for a better deal.

The trade-in prices are much higher than they were yesterday. A note 10+ is now $500 on the 1st device.

The trade-ins are better now, but the lack of free memory upgrade makes the deal worse.


Mostly depends on if you are TMobile or not. The trade-ins for TMobile were great under the preorder deal.



Unlocked or other carrier (and you don't care about the Tab S8 Ultra): This deal is better.

If you have TMobile who was already doing these trade-in values, the TMobile pre-order Samsung.com deal was better with the $250 credit.



Note: I see 15x WOWPoints on Perks.


With Note20 Ultra 5g trade for S22 Ultra 256gb Tmobile:
Pre-order deal: $369.99 and $250 Samsung credit
This deal: $416.24 and $100 Google Play credit

Ordered mine a few days ago to get the $250 Samsung credit. Traded in a Note 10+ and an S21. Final cost for a 256GB option w education discount: $374.62 before taxes

Priced out exact same purchase today with the $100 Google Play credit. Including trade in for Note 10+ and S21. Final cost for a 256GB option w education discount: $374.62 before taxes

My trade in scenario only has one difference: the Samsung credit ($250) vs the Google Play credit ($100).

Not sure this is the same for other scenarios (I'd assume yes, or very close?), but figured I'd share.

It was $750 trade-in with double mem and 250 Sammy dollars. Now $850 trade-in, 100 Google fun bucks and no double mem. I'm not seeing this as a deal at all Frown

You're correct it's the Home Appliance page, but I believe it doesn't matter what Samsung click-through you use.

I've purchased a device not clicking through the Mobile one before and still got the points.


edit; With the S21 I clicked through the regular Samsung one and not Samsung Mobile and still got the points. I haven't tried Appliance but it'd be worth a try.

You got me curious, so I ran the numbers to trade in my S21 first and Note 10+ second. In both attempts, the second trade in was much lower vs if it was the first trade in (ex: S21 as primary trade in value: $600 / S21 as secondary trade in value: $395).

Below are the results for Note 10+ and S21 trade ins and their prices (education discount included for both):

1st Trade In: Note 10+
2nd Trade in: S21
Final Cost: $374.62

1st Trade In: S21
2nd Trade in: Note 10+
Final Cost: $379.24

In this scenario, trading in the newer phone second gave me a $5 more trade in value Confused

I always thought it ultimately mattered which product category you purchased from. So, if you clicked through from Samsung Mobile and purchased a vaccuum (ie a Home Appliance), they would credit you with whatever points multiplier was in effect for the Home Appliance category at that time.
