Woah why ? I freaking love this game ! The longer you can last (ha!) Without giving away what team you're on, fooling the others, etc, the more fun it is.
Haven't played the expansion, but saboteur by itself is a fun game. 5 or 7 players IMHO is a perfect number

In my opinion, If you have ever wondered what a slow death would be like, I imagine this is the closest you can come without dying… my wife and I dread playing this game with our kids when we can dissuade them to play dominos or uno.

Low stakes deceptive game played over three rounds. Nothing earthshattering, but quite fun. Never played the expansion

Two problems with that:

1) this is a but of a bluffing game, and 7-year-olds (and many adults) aren't the best bluffers.

2) this (and many hidden role/social dedication games) is not a great 3-player game.

Play it with 5+ people that are decent at bluffing, and it's a pretty decent game. There are still much better hidden role and/or social deduction games out there, but for the price and for a lighter game, this can be fun with the right group.
