Sufficient power, orbital action, and other nice touches like the adjustable shoe, and light.
Certainly better than the cheaper brushed-motor saw tha Ryobi bundles with most of its kits, which probably would have struggled with the same task.
However, while this saw will work with the 2.0Ah batteries for short duty cycles, to get the best out of it requires one of the larger batteries, for longer run times and more power.
Something to keep in mind, depending on the type of intended task.
In terms of DTO's pricing games, during that sale, it was $80, described as "Final Price" which I took to suggest it would not go any lower. The reconditioned version was $60. People can weigh the value propositions for themselves.
I have my eye on the inflator, which was $32 on DTO, but now back to $60. It was $50 at Home Despot, and now $69. The value was debatable when the sales were on, but now, I don't see any reason to buy it from DTO instead of HD for the same cost with shipping factored in, and not have to wait a week for them to ship it, and also have 90 days return period coverage.
Gotta do the homework with DTO.
The Ridgid tools sold by DTO that are eligible for the LSA do qualify and can be registered. I just got approval for mine. The site will say that further action is required, and to mail in the proof of purchase, but all one has to do is upload a copy of the email receipt, and ask them to review it.
Or from this list and get 1 free battery per tool: https://www.directtools
There are similar specials for a handful of ryobi tools as well. The reciprocating saw was the only one I saw that seemed like an obvious good deal though.

Though, if I remember correctly, there may be a caveat in the fine print about "free" promotional items - anyone have any experience with this?
Some tools, like the saw mentioned above, could really benefit from larger batteries and not the free included ones. Free is free though.
For those looking for larger batteries, HD still has $99 free shipping for 2x4ah batteries and charger. https://slickdeals.net/f/15605833-ridgid-18v-4-0ah-batteries-with-charger-99
Also for price comparison, HD currently has 2x2ah batteries, charger, USB power source, hand vac and torch light for $129 free ship.
Previous Ridgid purchases I've made include $120 18g nail gun with 2ah batt and charger from DTO and router/sander for $99 from HD. Just for price comparison, no time machine.
