These are Red Plus drives and at 8TB and up they are 7200RPM except for the WD80EFZX which is 5640RPM. Smaller sizes are all 5640RPM or 5400RPM.

You mean their policy of selling returns as "open box" and then telling the 'lucky' next customer they are SOL?

Actually I'm more concerned about their non-exist packing material when shipping hard drives in particular. I've received hard drives from them where they've tossed the regular hard drive box inside a bigger 2 or 3 foot box without ANY packing material. Then they send that box to me, with the hard drive bouncing around for it's trip half way across the country.
I had to send back the LAST two hard drives I got that way.
This "might" be a tempting price, but I'm never getting hard drives from Newegg again.
Are we sure that these are 7200 RPM? Last I checked, the RED was 5400 RPM. In fact, the only 7200 NAS that I remember is the Deskstar.

For those wondering why it matters....although you do get faster read/write speeds with a higher RPM, typically you do not need the speed in a NAS environment. And the slower speeds help to keep the drive cooler and aid in lasting longer.

FYI, looks like limit of 2, but a great deal IMHO. Just bought and installed 4 of the 6TB from Best Buy for $120 each. Would have much preferred these with the higher spindle speed and transfer rate at this price.

Are these helium? Hard to tell since they don't use actual photos of hard drives in product listings...

Not thrilled to purchase through Newegg after hearing about their disingenuous return policy. I'll have to pass on this one.
