Some of the Trade in Values are much less this time (XR down to $250 and iP11 down to $350). . .some are higher like $640 for Galaxy S21 trade in. Perfect if you got the XR cheap 2 months ago, traded in for clearance S21, which can be traded in + $60 for an iP13. Can't trade the S21 on the base iP13 mini as TIV exceeds phone purchase price, but you could do it on the 256GB version.

The $640 Trade in Value on the S21 is as big a deal as the $100 off the iPhone.
And the $640 TIV seems good towards most TMO phones over $640, i.e. S22 line, Pixel 6

EDIT: $640 TIV is only for $128GB of S21. 256GB version fetches only $420. QA Note: The $640 is only for the Black S21 color. The other colors are $420

TBH, I don't think the blue shirts see what your TIV is in store for online orders, they are just trying to match a trade to an order, and have you sign the form for the actual (i.e. lower) trade in value. . .and if they take the trade, then all is well as your transaction agreement terms were settled before you went to the store to pickup/trade

EDIT: this is not something you want to do buy in store. You will not get $640 TIV for an S21 that way!!! They will see the $420 or $520 or possibly $550 TIV and go with whichever one of those values that is on their weekly TIV sheet.

Best Buy had iPhone 13 marked down by $100 about a month and a half ago and I got $240 for an iPhone 8 trade in which brought down the final cost to about $500 tax included. Now they only offer $180 for an iPhone 8. So definitely not as slick for me at least.

Isn't Costco deal better if u have an older iPhone.. like Xr is 350 TIV at Costco on top of 10% discount of msrp.. its a good deal* nevertheless OP

Because the Title of the deal said T-Mobile. . .and didn't say ATT or AT&T

And BTW, it requires monthly payments on ATT to get lower price. . .better deal for ATT is through ATT direct

Usually with Costco deals, you have to choose between the 10% for in stock fullly paid upfront phones. . .and trade in deals, which involves TMO itself, and thus TMO MSRP pricing.

Thanks for that data point. That sucks, as S21U would have been $770 so curious. I take and printout screenshots of my trade in values when I order for instances like this. No guarantee, but if S21U is $770, why should they neg $640 if I have printout saying $640 for S21? Again, color shouldn't matter in this decision

And wondering if S21U has $770 value, why anything tagged as S21U has a $640 value (and obviously because you or me chose it as an S21)

You didn't quote my post enitrely. . .which ended with basically because ATT requires 24 or 30 monthly payments to get "these BB deals" price wise + largest TIV, which is a laugh as just doing the deal at ATT would be in your best interest deal wise in that case.

You can always check out the BB unlocked deals with ATT activate today. . .but their TIV's will be less, but with many time $100 lower phone cost, and no obligation for 24 months, is your best ATT bet without going to ATT to buy. . .

If I were with ATT proper already, I would be scrounging for a 10 year old used and broken Galaxy S series phone to trade for free ABC for an new S22 etc. . . .

Not true in this case. Since January, Costo has been running a trade-in promo deal for the iPhone 12s and 13s. iPhone 13 at Costco at "full price" is only $720. It's still available now and you can get up to $360 trade in value for eligible phones. Trading in an iPhone XR specifically gets $360 trade in value. You get it in the form of a Mastercard virtual card rebate (typically takes 30 days to receive but can be as long as 8 weeks). See link below for the promo details on Tmobile and confirmation from T-force on other devices that qualify for $360 trade in value. I agree with X_point, depending on your trade in device, the Costco deal might be better (assuming you don't care that the rebate value is not credited immediately during purchase).

Yes. Note though that Tmobile official policy is that phone should have been active under Tmobile service for 40 days to be eligible to unlock. People have reported being able to request immediate unlock from Best Buy and Costco (i.e., without waiting 40 days) but that is a YMMV situation. I've done it myself. Sometimes a Tmobile agent would insist that the 40 day requirement is not yet met and refuse to unlock. I usually just try again with another agent until successful. Just wanted to be clear that the immediate unlock request is never a guarantee regardless of where you purchase it.
