Trade-In Info
Overview: If Samsung is processing trade-ins like prior deals, you will receive instructions by email--along with a prepaid shipping label--around the time your new phone arrives. You can also print the label from your online Samsung account.
You will send in the phone only (no boxes, chargers, SIMs, cases, etc.). Exception: If you are trading a Note series, the S Pen must be included. Phone must be factory reset and have no passwords or locks. Good practice: Make a VIDEO and take photos of the phone, including showing some functions, to prove the condition if Samsung challenges you after inspecting the phone. More details....

My phone has scratches [or burn in or faulty Bluetooth or fill in the blank]. Will Samsung accept the phone? Will the trade in amount be reduced? According to the FAQ, "Your device must have no breaks, cracks, or other defects that go beyond normal wear and tear." Is your issue normal wear and tear?
When/how will I get instructions for trading in my phone? Samsung will send you an email with the subject "Welcome to the Samsung Trade-In Program." The email will arrive anywhere from the day the phone ships to a few days after the phone arrives. It includes a link to download a pre-paid shipping label. You have 15 days from receipt of the email to ship the trade in. You can also get the shipping label for the trade in from your online Samsung account under order details.
Two commonly asked questions about financed and leased phones:
1. The device I'm trading in is one that I bought using an equal payment or other financing plan, and I still have payments left on it. Can I still trade it in?
Yes – however, please note that all remaining payments on the device you're trading in are your responsibility. You may also be subject to additional fees. Check with your current carrier for details.
2. lease my device. Can I trade it in?
No – leased devices are not eligible for this Trade-In Promotion unless you purchase the leased device from your carrier before trading it in. Check with your carrier for details.

We appreciate your patience. Looking into the details of this order, it is with regret that we inform you that your order is not eligible for the price match that has been requested as multiple Samsung exclusive offers has already been applied on the item in question and its promo items.
The trade in value increased but the $250 Samsung Credit is no longer available on the website. The trade in value in the order is lower because you were able to avail the other offers.
We are hoping for your understanding with our limitations. Have a wonderful day and stay safe!
"Greetings from Samsung support.
We have checked the details and noticed as there is no price difference for the main order although if there is a trade-in discount is different, as while placing the order there is a different discount and promotion added to your order and you got different credit to purchase accessories which equals the present trade-in discount, so now as you got a max discount and as there is no difference with your order value we will not have any option to help you with the price match refund. if there is any option we would have helped you in the first instance.
We hope you understand our limitations."
This was all around a fantastic deal, especially when you consider social media was speculating Samsung was going to charge a starting price of $1600 for their new line of Galaxy phones, which couldn't have been further from the case. I basically got a $700 tablet for free with a free keyboard cover, and only paid $722 out of pocket for a new unlocked 512GB S22U. I doubt I could have even got $600 selling my Note20 due to screen burn-in.
Me: My name is Jack [insert last name, mailing address and email]. I am writing about order US123456789. I received an $800 trade-in value for my Samsung S21 Ultra. Today the trade in value for the exact same phone is $850. Also, there is a $100 Google Play promotional credit. I am thinking about returning my S22 Ultra and ordering a new one with the new trade in value and Google play credit. Can I get a $150 adjustment instead? Thanks.
Samsung: After verifying my contact info again (despite it being the the first message), the rep had me to drag/drop screenshots of the trade in value and Google Play promo into the chat box. Following a 2-3 minute review, he wrote, "Thank you for staying connected. Appreciate your patience. I'll right away request a refund and you will receive the email in 2-3 business days regarding the update of the refund."
Fingers crossed it gets approved.
If successful, this adjustment is in addition to the 5% refund I received after a chat about not being able to apply the code for a free Smart Tag and wireless charger. With the trade, various refunds, and 12% Rktan CB, my out of pocket for the 256GB S22 Ultra will be around $150 (plus I deferred the $250 credit for use later).
P.S. I did this from a chat under the "Support" link on the Samsung homepage, NOT the chat box that pops up on the S22 page. The pop-up is for pre-sales questions.

I saw/heard the ad for that somewhere with people shocked, "even in this condition?" and I thought to myself... "I suffered through owning a Samsung phone with Galaxy in the name and it is still in a closet somewhere, I wonder how much it would cost me to take advantage of this offer and flip this new flagship phone?"
But, alas, the Samsung Galaxy Nexus seems to have zero trade-in value.
Get A52 or iphone X instead. Their performances are better than S22+ Ultra. wtf samsung
https://www.google.com/search?q=samsung+s22+GOS&newwindow=1&sxsrf=APq-WBtcrnXHjWcC6sIZdITpXwwfJwvTcQ... [google.com]
This is a google search on Samsung S22 GOS.
GOS is an app that limits the device's performance to reduce overheating. Samsung has been implementing this as a means of controlling the overheating issue (not sure if you are aware of the previous flagship Galaxy models having a huge overheating issues).
This wouldn't be as big of a problem if the company came clear with it when launching the product. They didn't. Posted benchmarks when GOS is disabled for the customers to see, while in fact the customers are getting like 50% of the promised performance - which is worse than A52, and thus my comparison to S22U to A52. It fairs worse than Iphone X and is similar to Iphone 8 if I remember correctly. It performs worse than some of the Chinese flagships android devices.
With this software controlling the temperature, they have cut down on the amount of the gel in the device which is used for cooling - cost saved. profit!
Korean internet has been blown up with this discovery. Not sure why the US market is much quieter.
You could consider this similar to Apple forcibly reducing the performance of the iPhones after a certain number of years of use which had blown up a couple of years ago. Except Samsung has done that from the get-go.
Oh another thing. Samsung made it impossible for the users to disable the GOS. so yea. Not a free country no more.
