I'm Korean… this has been on sale at this price for awhile now (Coupons been there for over a month). The reason being because no Korean person would ever buy this - the "Haechandle" version is a Chinese pepper paste. This isn't Authentic Korean. If you're not Korean maybe you wouldn't know any better so it might be worth trying out but it's not the same taste/quality.

I am from S.Korea, and I dont understand why you are saying it is a Chinese pepper paste. Could you explain more?

That is what I know, but I was confused.. never heard China copied the paste(well...they do copy everything else even your personal information! lol).

I'm American and a foodie. I like this stuff to season ramen (1 teaspoon) and stuff like that. Go easy on it. Gives a nice kick to whatever you put it into. Will last a long time when fridged. Enjoy!
Made the mistake of buying doenjang from this company when the last deal was posted. It looked nothing like normal doenjang. Get Sunchang and not this unless you want a tub of sadness and sodium.
