They work together. You used to need 2 switch consoles to play with 2, but they updated the game, and now you can play split screen.

Have you ever driven a remote control car around your living room?

If you want a new MK experience, I would instead recommend the Hori Mario Kart Racing Wheel Pro Deluxe.


In my experience with both, that will give more fun than this. Although the wheel will probably gather dust too after awhile.

But we had a lot more fun with the wheel. And the wheel is fairly cheap regular price, and has been on sale a few times as well and it is done pretty well for how inexpensive it is. And works good in MK8 and also is compatible with some other Switch racing games iirc.

Does this work really well on carpet? I have large space. I just don't know if having a carpet would be an issue and have no pet as well.

Break it out every once in a while to fark with the dogs. I also bring it in for students on special occasions. I love this concept and hope it gets more modern iterations over time. Setting up the track itself is a little cumbersome.
