This set should include "A Clockwork Orange"... Maybe some "Eyes Wide Shut" and "Spartacus"...

The only one in the set that I would watch again is 2001, which is one of the greatest films ever made, IMO, along with the Exorcist and a couple others. The Shining and FMJ are also great classic films, but for some reason they don't draw me back like 2001 and the Exorcist. I think I've read most of Clarke's books including 2001, 2010 and 3000 as well as the Exorcist written by William Peter Blatty, which was the basis of the film. Interestingly, the film 2001 was not based on the book. As I understand it, the book was written in collaboration with the movie.

Love it. I got a chance to see it in the movie theatres for some special event they did. I think music and cinematography work perfectly in it.

I enjoyed Doctor Sleep too. Nice nod to the original.

If you haven't see the movie Ready Player One, there's a scene in the movie featuring The Shining.

There was a pretty good Mtn Dew spoof commercial [youtube.com] too w/ Bryan Cranston Smilie

Oh yeah, there's some documentary called Room 237 [amazon.com] that was interesting.

Agree on Clockwork Orange, Kubrick took over after Spartacus after shooting began and the script was locked and he never considered it one of "his". Dr Strangelove would be another great addition
