fyi: focal's build quality here is incredibly questionable. the headband on mine broke after light use in only 6 months. when picking it up by one side, the band snapped under the weight of the hanging headphone. very cheap, all plastic construction except for the metal yokes. it's a known defect & focal refuses to repair the headband under warranty, or sell replacement bands. Adorama took my last pair back for a full refund after they broke.
Definitely not as robust as Sennheiser, etc. I'm pretty rough on my sennheisers and they've lasted years with no issue. Love the sound & great for my noise environment, but Focal discontinued these headphones and Adorama has been trying to get rid of inventory for months. Unclear if Focal fixed their band in the Celestee, after replacing the Elegia.
I returned these cause even at very low volumes my ears would be ringing. Several people have complained that it's because of the tight Seal that they form and the amount of air they push. They do sound great though, female vocals are heavenly
I bought a pair and returned them after reading how difficult the headband would be to repair, not to mention how expensive 3rd party replacement pads are for these headphones. They did sound fantastic though, I just wish they were more easily repairable. I'll just keep my DT-770's for closed back.

These pair exceptionally well with a simple Logitech G6 or Schiit Fulla for PS4/5 and most Xboxes.
Obviously you can go higher, but the ease to drive these makes those budget integrated DAC/Amps perfectly suitable for most to drive the cans properly.

I am team Sennheiser all the way for that reason. My HD600's are over ten years old now and have just had new pads a few times. I am not into buying disposable luxury goods.

My HD 580s are over 20 years old and still work perfectly.

Odd, very interesting issue I've never heard of that.
I finally pulled the trigger, thanks Iconian. Been thinking about getting these for a year now. Thinking eventually this "old stock" will dry up and the next best thing from focal is going to cost more, I bit the bullet. Does anybody know if adorama tries to resell these as new with open box returns? Seems like my last pair of hifiman was that way. Item looked new no damaged but the packaging definitely was opened. I kept it anyways because it worked fine. Are the new "rubber" cables a step down from the woven fabric ones that were much more stiff?

Same! Although I haven't brought myself to sell them since they sound so good even though I stopped using them.
