Firefighter here. Central station monitoring is a good thing. We'd rather answer the occasional accidental activation than face a fully engulfed home with spreading because no one called us.

Obviously, if we visit your home twice a week because of this, we'll want to have a conversation - otherwise, my statement stands

!!!! WARNING !!!!
I have 7 of these and they are VERY prone to misfiring, usually at the late hours of the night/early morning. I've replaced 4 in the past only to find out that a can of compressed air usually solves the misfiring. If you read the reviews there is a consistent pattern of this.

I run these in HomeKit via Homebridge. In hindsight, I would avoid these and go with a standard smoke detector from Costco.

I have 8 of these, installed 4 years ago. Had 4 or 5 misfires. Batteries have to be replaced once per year as they don't last too long in these and they do not talk to each other (no interconnect). And they're just fugly. If I was to do it again, I'd go with regular wired alarms and added a smart sound detector.

Thanks OP. Picked up a couple sets for our home. I have one unit (used to have two but left one at our condo when we sold) and I liked the ability to connect it to SmartThings.

Question, is there a hub we can buy without monitoring? I am Wyze ecosystem and looking for the best way.

Who the heck is going to vacuum things all the way up on a ceiling Lol
Not everyone has 10+ foot ceilings. If you have an 8ft ceiling these are easily accessible via the hose attachment.

I have this. I tested it - at the exhaust of my car - nothing, not even chirp after 2min!
But this one works great "Kidde Carbon Monoxide Detector with Battery Backup, Digital Display " only 30 sec and it started to beep.
So make sure you test yours!

How often do you vacuum your home or should I ask how infrequently you vacuum your home?

Every month. My point is what other fire alarm recommends you vacuum once a month?

I'm surprised companies put so much effort into bringing out modern detectors that don't even meet basic code in many locations. Code here requires hardwired; these are not. Code requires all detectors in the home to be interconnected; these are not.

When we built our home a few years ago the only solution at the time was to use standard hardwired detectors and tie them into a linked relay connected to a Smartthings window switch. Besides getting alerts to my phone, I also wired the carbon monoxide relay to a RIB relay at my propane hot water heater outlet to shut down the heater if carbon monoxide was detected. I also set up the smartthings hub to turn on every light in the house if the smoke detector goes off.

Fire alarms are too sensitive. I take them all down except the one in my bedroom. Government regulation fails yet again.
But the Darwin effect likely won't fail you.

Anyone use these with a Resideo (Honeywell) system? I have a Pro A7 Plus that has z-wave, but so far, all the sensors I use are PROA7 branded. Also - if I have hardwired CO/Smoke & I replace w/ battery powered, will they trip the other hardwired detectors? Haven't been able to find any hardwired z-wave combo detectors

Agreed. I bought a bunch of these last year as I was hoping for a solution that would work with home assistant and also let me interconnect wired and wireless devices… no such luck. I sent them all back after learning the Zwave devices didn't interconnect at all.

Ended up switching to First Alert / OneLink as it was the only option I could find that was interconnected.

I have 3x hardwired Onelink detectors (one per floor), 2x hardwired BRK heat detectors in the garage, and 5x wireless Onelink detectors in various bedrooms.

They are all interconnected (one goes off, they all go off), have an app (that's pretty bad, but at least exists) and I even tied it into my Vista home security system (which I use with home assistant) via the aux relay so it sets of the alarm siren there too.

If you have a home that was somewhat recently built, your alarms are probably interconnected. If thats the case, and when one goes off, they all do, you can just add a smoke/co2 listener. That way the detectors don't need to be smart and you can save money if/when you need to replace them. I have Ring's and it's worked flawlessly.

I ordered this last time on this deal and they came with the QR code as small paper separately not sticked to the unit which I lost somewhere. No I am not sure how I can connect it to my Ring monitoring system
Any idea
That same QR code is on the safety label on the back of the detector. Mine also had a sticker on the side that was specifically for the Z-Wave info, and that also had the QR code on it.
