The best thing about Hero Quest is the Brode Sode.
Dang I remember playing this as a kid forever ago, and had no idea they re-released it! Is it pretty identical? I have my old set at my parents house somewhere.
Also I got this as a gift as a kid and there's no way it was over $100 back then! Tabletop gaming has really changed. Evolved, really, and for the better. (Except for my wallet)
What's awesome is they partnered with Bank of America. Inside the box there's a discount coupon to refinance your house so you can afford groceries after buying the game.

Which is $68 USD in 2022 dollars… so not that far off actually
Pretty far off considering the MSRP is $135 and this one is made in China instead of the USA..

The original is always going to be a valuable collector's item
My friend bought it at Kaybee Toys in the early 90's. I bought both expansions. He stills has them. We tried play through it twice but never made it through Return of the Witch King.

Ubless you're in it for nostalgia, there's much better dungeon crawlers now for cheaper.

Gloomhaven or Gloomhaven: Jaws of the Lion.

https://www.amazon.com/Cephalofai...01LZXVN4P/

https://www.amazon.com/Cephalofai...B088QSDB7S

The latter is a less expensive update of the original *or* an expansion to Gloomhaven. I used "Jaws of the Lion" as a "test the waters" version as Gloomhaven will set you back $80-$150 depending on when and from who you purchase. No matter which way you go it's, essentially, the same game and both offer significant amount of game play in the box.

If you have matured along with this game I would highly recommend spending your 80 plus dollars on Gloomhaven if you don't already have it. The smaller campaign Jaws of the Lion game goes for under 30 a lot and has more components and value than this set.

sorry to bother you again, but anything aside from Gloomhaven ? I have Jaws of the Lion, just curious if there's others that are comparable that I haven't seen.
