I swear by Rockports - I bought 2 pair when I was a Mormon missionary and I basically walked on then 12+ hours a day, 7 days a week, for a year, and they were still a solid shoe. But, I pulled out my 2nd pair at my 1 year anniversary, rinse/repeat, they held up.
These weren't like hiking, and I am not hear to preach or apologize for the religion, just make the point that as a former Mormon missionary, I literally walked around in these Black Rockport dress shoes for all day everyday for 2 years and they held up, never fell apart. They definitely looked used and worn by the end of each year, but a good polishing and they looked great again.
This was about 15 years ago now, so it's been a while and companies and quality can change.. I am just curious how they are now.
