How does 12 inch compare to 10 inch sliding version. For general applications. Is 10 sufficient for most uses?

I have never been impressed by a Ryobi miter Saw. As a finish carpenter I get asked about what tools I recommend, and I often recommend Ryobi tools, but I'd never recommend a ryobi miter saw. I've never used this particular model, but of the ones I have used never had a straight fence.

Just my two cents, take it for what you will.

I have this saw and used it to build a carport. It worked well. The LED shake line is not visible in the sun though.
The sliding and 12 in blade made cutting 2x12 and 4x6 no problem. The only thing I could not do was cut 45 degree ends in the 4x6. I.e. with the 4x6 laying down on the 6 side and tilting the saw a 12 blade is still not big enough and the sliding didn't help.
