I use this professionally all the time for photography work for real estate clients mostly on the residential side.
It's been great for my purposes. My main complaint is the batteries are never at 100% after a charge. Now before you jump down my throat I know they degrade over time, but it's been really poor.
Photo quality is great imo. I take this out and do some fun aerial photo shoots as well. The quality is nice, but obviously not the best of the best. Video looks really smooth on the gimbal and the QuikShot features make it easy to get cinematic shots that look really pro.
For anyone looking to buy this model with this weight.. you need to register it with the FAA it's $5 and you're "supposed" to get a recreational license. The license is free to take online.. you literally just keep it with you in your drone bag.
If you plan on posting on YouTube or like me doing some work for realtors you'll need a FAA PART 107 LICENSE. Which is not a piece of cake to obtain all though very doable.
Most people won't do either.. That's the problem. You can seriously damage property or hurt someone flying this without knowing what you're doing.
Check your local laws. If you live in a big city you'll probably have a hard time trying to enjoy this as there are flight restrictions and you'll need to get a flight waiver to launch your drone. Also if you live by an airport.. you'll have a hard time trying to fly.
Starting in the next few months to next year you'll have to register a REMOTE ID as well. Basically so you can be tracked even more.. I'm not a fan of this.
It's fun.. But definitely not a toy. Ok maybe a little bit of a big kid toy.. it is VERY fun. Haha.
If anyone needs any information or help flying commercially or getting started send me a DM. Have a good day!
For now, I'm still rocking the Spark & it's 12 minute battery lol

pilots don't fly airplanes in the same place where i fly drones. the faa app tells me where i can fly legally in and around the airport and as long as i stay off the flight line (where planes land and take off from) and i stay below a certainly height (usually 100 to 200 feet), there should be no problems. and guess what? contrary to popular believe, there have been zero incidents between drones and planes at my airport. why? because aircraft-on-drone that's not a thing, that's a myth. no neighborhood has commercial aircraft flying around under 400 feet and no drone is allowed over 400 feet high. it just doesn't happen. however, i will conceded there are likely drone flyers who fly up to a 1000 feet or more in uncontrolled airspace (away from airports) which is a no-no but it's hardly a serious safety issue when there are have zero collisions. geofencing for the most part will not prevent a drone from exceeding 400 feet about the ground.

ads-b in my drone is simply a warning feature that alerts me when properly-equipped aircraft are in the area. if i am flying along side the freeway during rush hour traffic and the news traffic helicopter is coming, i can pickup the helicopter several miles away on my remote controller and then i can see it approaching on my phone's screen. i usually move out of the way if necessary, lower my altitude, and pause for a few minutes while they clear the area and then i resume. the helicopter pilots have no idea, no indication that my drone is flying in the area; i don't let it get close enough. this is as it should be because drones must always yield to other aircraft. one day when my drone has to broadcast my position (remote id) and other aircraft can see me (in addition to me seeing them), maybe then the yielding will be different. but today it is one-way only and that's part of why drones must yield at all times.
Does anyone know the db level on the 2, or preferably the 2S?

but of course if you interpret "remote i.d." the way he is interpreting it, then yes everything is about to implode. and if he is the head of an agency, then yes "his agency is banning...." and "his agenda won't allow...." can't stop that nonsense.
however, i don't interpret remote-id the way he does. and neither does 75% of the rest of the world. this is not a thread to debate remote id because 1) it's complicated and most people reading here rightly don't care about remote-id and 2) it's called "reading into the future" so there are zero known facts and all opinions and 3) nobody buying a drone today should care about remote-id because (in my opinion) it's not relevant.
the drone manufacturers have repeated said, "we don't know what to do at this point because the rules are unclear."
but he has to nerve to cherry pick sensational drone stories by the verge and other drone blogs and i've repeatedly said if you don't hear it from the faa, there may not be any truth to it. i don't like remote-id. i hate it. and if i were writing it blog, i would shred it. i would claim all the current drones are going to be grounded and people would be going to jail and re-sale values will plummet to $0....i would say those things because i don't want remote-id to be implemented and i since i don't get a vote, i use my blog. but it's not up to me.

All the people trying to bend the rules or skirt them are part of the reason they keep making more of them - which in turn makes it harder on all of us,
For me this will be my first drone, I talked myself out of dropping too much on a hobby I'm not sure how much time I'll invest in. All that said if you're thinking about a drone in this price range, this price is super hard to beat especially considering the extras included and the fact that it's brand new.
