I work for Avis, code is valid for BAYPHARM CORP. employees only.
However, anyone can use them and most counter staffs don't care. Unless it's a manager checking you in, then they might ask for validation. The reason is because even without accidents, we periodically bill BAYPHARM CORP. for wear and tear and other miscellaneous charges, if they refuse to pay due to "fraud", you better believe we're gonna get those funds from you.

Whoa.. staff is advocating using random company codes and providing the attached image to show Avis as proof of employment?

Just rented from Avis in Denver. Wanted to switch car type in the last 24 hours due to the snow coming in. Got an AWD SUV for less than the price of a standard car at any other company at the Denver airport. Staff was super helpful, didn't have a single issue. Drove an hour through snow on the way back to the airport. Return process as simple as could be. Park and hop on the shuttle. I've honestly never had a horrible rental experience with any company at any airport though. Either I'm lucky or most horror stories are like many bad reviews and are exaggerated lies.
Reviews are not exaggerated. I just rented in salt lake city from Avis. Over an hour wait to get a car that was reserved and when got to front was told the reservation was cancelled because I did not pick up the car in time (thanks to their line). They reinstated but royal pain. Rental in Feb they overcharged me and claimed initially their electronic record took precedence over the signed paper document. Avis just plain sucks in recent months, at least in Salt Lake City. They have no staff and are incompetent.

I realize you are new here, so I will cut you a break. You have replied twice to this thread that you supposedly dislike. If you don't like my codes, please move on. Try the Consumer Awareness thread to post your complaints.

Good to know that OG members and Staff are okay with promoting fraudulent activity to its members. Please go ahead and explain to me how impersonating an employee like you're advocating is not considered fraud.

Avis staff don't care and you'll be fine booking this. Problem comes if you get into an accident. The reason these corporate codes are cheap is because the corporate vouches their workers are competent and won't do dumb stuff. If you get into an accident, all bets are off, you'll be on your own since even your credit card protection won't help you due to "fraud". This goes for any ancient, even the ones the other person is at fault. You better believe their insurance will check everything is valid before they decide to pay anything out.
If you get into an accident on a domestic US rental the insurance works in this order.
1. Insurance paid for as part of the rental.
2. If you decline CDW, your own personal insurance kicks in.
3. If you don't have personal insurance or have high deductible then you can claim against your credit card. Your credit card will only pay out if you declined CDW when you took out the rental.

If you use the corporate code that you are not an employee of, those rental and credit card insurance coverages are null and void. They most definitely have fraud clauses. Also, the retail rental staff may not care, but this can get flagged later on at corporate backend security. All rentals are subject to a final audit.

Also from those emails, it looks like avis is already aware of slickdeals and probably monitors code abuse so use those random company codes at your own risk if you dont work there.

Almost pulled the trigger until I saw the comments

Once I saw about the business account I ran the same deal on Kayak and was able to get the same end total price for premium for 6 days for my trip in April. The $100+ faxes and fees at checkout on Avids website is what kills the deal. If you do try this deal make sure you incorporate those taxes and fees, but buyer beware about your credit card insurance not covering due to not being an employee using that AWD.

I do thank you for making me my end my procrastination having to order my rental for my trip though :-)

I'm an attorney and I believe that statement to be very false. In order to prove fraud you would have to actively demonstrate in court that the renter is knowingly working to deceive the company. That would be very difficult. These codes are posted all over the place online. Avis makes very little safeguards to inform people about the discount codes and prevent ineligible people from booking a vehicle. Insurances, especially personal, would have no grounds to deny coverage just because Avis accidentally let the customer utilize a discount code that the renter was actually ineligible for.

Agreed. As someone who has been in this situation, this is how it worked for me.

Sorry, you're wrong. Your CC company doesn't check the rate that was used. I've had an accident and used my amex rental coverage to pay for the repair.

It's so annoying when people pretend to know about something.

I have an existing reservation for June. Rates are much higher now. I just signed up for preferred. Will using Amazon prime affect my rate, or only new reservations?

Yes, it's very annoying when people pretend to know about something, but they don't, just like yourself. The only reason your rental was covered is because you didn't knowingly commit fraud. Try it with this code and see how that goes for you...

I think 2 different kinds of insuranc claims are getting mixed here ...
a. Some Corporate Rate codes have INSURANCE built into the rates for "BUSINESS" travel. In order to claim benefits from that insurance you would need to be part of that corporate group and on "BUSINESS" travel
b. For credit cards that provide Insurance coverage , they do not care about what rate code you used.
