This deal has come around occasionally and it's about as good as a price you'll find on a set of 4 All-Clad D3 pieces (3 of them have lids, making 7 pieces total). Just understand that the 4 included pieces are on the small side, so it's only a great deal if these are the sizes that work for you. My opinion: it's a good starter set if you cook for two. If you cook larger quantities, you'll eventually want some larger pieces.

10" fry pan: Excellent versatile mid-size fry pan, particularly good for cramped cooktops.

2-qt. covered saucepan: Good all-purpose pan for sauces or small batches of rice, not really big enough for steaming, soup, popcorn, etc.

3-qt. covered sauté pan: This is a large workhorse pan for sautes and modest-size braising, stews, and stovetop-to-oven dishes

6-qt. covered stockpot: I prefer 8-qt but this can serve as your spaghetti or soup pot, or as a dutch oven.

I've curated some general All-Clad advice in this thread. Worth a look if you're new to All-Clad, or considering it vs. other brands.

I recently bought an all clad stock pot from a previous deal and the pot started to pit at the bottom after the first use and got worse after each use making this expensive pot look like crap. To my surprise this issue is not covered under warranty and they won't do anything about it. Very disappointing.

Haven't used the SD cashback deal before. How has it been? Looks like the extensions have extremely good reviews, so Im guessing quite well.
I had a very poor experience w sd and macys. Just recently got my black Friday time rebate. I think they just paid out because I was a pain. I sent in all documentation and still they could never verify anything. I was always waiting for a reply from Macy's to verify my purchase.

Don't buy it. That pot is actually much smaller in person than in the pictures.
I don't know. In my picture, it is about 1/2" in diameter…

Remember to buy a can of Barkeepers Friend to keep your fancy All-Clad shiny. Mine gets dull after cooking certain things, or some black burnt stuff gets stuck. Just add some BKF and a little splash of water and rub it down and it's shiny and clean again.

So from a experience I'm not really impressed with all clad. They're a pain in the butt to clean and not noticed a difference for nonstick performance compared to my a few year old Calphalon set from kohls.
I was in this situation a few years ago and just went back to using non-stick to cook everything after disappointing results. At some point my non-stick started performing poorly as they do and I went back to the D3 10" pan (the one in this deal) and I figured out I was cooking way too hot and it keeps heat more than cheap non-sticks. Though I still use a non-stick for certain things like potstickers, I default to the All-Clad now. Also feels better cooking on a pan that's not potentially toxic, always hard to tell when a non-stick is starting to wear down.

Thanks for the detailed post on All-Clad.
Do you suggest this or the one from Costco?

What the heck?! That is WAY cheap and looks to be copper core. Looks exactly like the All-Clad stuff, but how Is it so cheap?! Is it still made in the US? Does it have a lifetime warranty?

I know nothing about the Costco brand. It obviously looks like a bargain, and Costco private labels are usually high quality, but at that price, I cannot imagine corners haven't been cut. And from the photos, the shape/angle of the skillet doesn't look terribly practical either. At that price I can't imagine they perform as well or last a lifetime, but of course at that price they're almost disposable.

Oof — Just read some Costco reviews. Lots of reports of warping and discoloration, plus complaints about weight and lack of Helper handles on the heaviest pieces.

Good for you. Cooking with stainless is a skill that must be learned but it's worth it.

And here's a big misconception about PFTE-coated nonsticks: they don't become toxic just when they wear down. They actually releases toxins into the air when they are heated to a temperature of about 400 degrees or higher — even a brand new pan.

Since learning that I've really cut back on using nonsticks, and re-committed to learning how to use my cast iron as my primary nonstick (just like stainless, it takes a little learning but I'm a cast iron convert now).

. The 3 qt saute alone is usually more than a hundred bucks, if I remember correctly.
Try over 200! https://www.all-clad.com/d3-stain...quart.html

I am a bit uncertain whether the set items sold at Macy's are really the same quality as D3 sold directly from All-Clad. I already have a 10" All Clad fry pan: maybe I should buy this set just to compare...

Yeah, this is exactly why I'm starting to shop All Clad. I wouldn't be surprised if some day PFTE nonsticks are made illegal due to health concerns. My goal is to switch to all stainless or carbon, save for one small nonstick saute pan used for eggs but replaced regularly and cooked on gingerly.

I like that plan, but all carbon steel sounds like a bit much. My ideal value/function set:
1 nonstick skillet like Tramontana or Oxo
1 carbon steel wok
1 cast iron skillet
1 large enameled cast iron Dutch oven (Le Creuset or Staub)
Everything else All-Clad stainless

Decided to jump on this set as some of our older cookware should definitely be decommissioned, and this will be great to go with our induction cooktop at the home we just purchased.

It has been around in some form or another since the 90's and has been through many iterations. The consensus is the claims of warping are from older iterations. I just bought it, and it's still sitting in the box. I saw this thread but I don't see what I'd be gaining for twice the price besides brand name.

Either way, Costco will take it back if I have problems. Probably long after all clad will.
