This is the first gen version the CRG9 Odyssey with 120HZ refresh. The second generation version (Odyssey G9) has dimming zones and 240HZ refresh. The third generation G9 NEO has micro-LED which give true HDR but is way more expensive. With EDU discount (and samsung doesn't always verify), the second gen was available for $990. Plus there was 7% + $100 back from a rewards site. So that was $820 for the much improved 2nd gen version. https://slickdeals.net/f/15620074-samsung-edu-epp-49-samsung-odyssey-g9-curved-qled-gaming-monitor-from-990-free-shipping?

This costco deal is an OK price but not mind blowing for the first generation version. Samsung naming kinda sucks... hard for the average person to tell which model is which gen. CRG9, G9 and G9 NEO.
It's CRG9 with 120Hz and 1800R and not Odessey G9 with 240Hz and 1000R. It says Odessey G9 but actually is not.
Just be sure you want this CRG9 model before you get it.
Costco is definitely the place to buy a monitor from if you can. Any issues with it and you get a hassle free return. I bought a LG monitor from the Costco website last year and didn't care for it after 2 months of barely using it and returned it in store for full refund.

I just ordered the Samsung Odyssey G7 32" 1440P monitor from the Costco site last week when it was on sale for $599 and got it in the mail 2 days ago. Set it up yesterday and looks great so far. I was going to order the G7 when it was on sale for $500 from the Samsung website back in November/December but I didn't trust the Samsung site for returns, especially when the G7 is known for quality control issues.

Also, on Reddit/other places people have mentioned the 90 day return policy doesn't apply to monitors from Costco. It's not a computer or TV...so technically you can return a monitor at any point. Most store associates will tell you 90 days for a computer monitor but people on Reddit spoke to Costco corporate and people that work at Costco have said the 90 day return policy doesn't apply to a monitor but because there is so much confusion for returns on monitors I'd always stick to returning it under 90 days.

Not the fully loaded version? You mean the one with the dice in the mirror? Rims? Care to clarify?

monitors do not fall under the 90 day limit. you request a return online, select UPS pick-up, and they will come the next day and take it off your hands. no questions asked, no confusion.

Amazing monitor for home office. I do not game, and have always hated VA monitors. This is just as good as the LG UltraGear 38" Class WQHD IPS, if not better

Oh man, first reading the title I thought it was the second versions. I wanted the 1000r curve.

The new 34" QD-OLED from Alienware has a 1800R curve.

This is ridiculously huge. (That's what she…)

Seriously though, I'm guessing one would only use this if they were gaming and it was their only single monitor? Wouldn't be practice for office work with multiple applications I imagine vs 2 x 27" monitors.

Costco has this mislabeled, unless Samsung rebranded the entire line as "Odyssey G9 series"

Not a bad price for the CRG9 though.

I think for most games running at this resolution won't hit past 120hz. I got a 43" 4k monitor and my max 144hz. My RTX 3080 can't even reach 120hz for more intense games.
