How can it be subpar, when it beats the RTX 3070 in 70% of the games head to head. I've watched multiple videos that repeat these wins, it would be different if these 6800m's still were in 2k+ laptops, but this is 1400 bucks NIB, even less if its open box. What other gaming laptop at 1399.99 has the same power? All 3070 laptops in the 1400-1700 dollar range come with a 5800hx and most with a 1080p screen, except the Legion and Asus (no web cam idiot move). This laptop should be great for 1080p and 1440p gaming, just hate that it doesnt include HDMI 2.1.

I bought this laptop last June/July and have had zero problems with it.

Mine did come with gimped RAM, but after replacing that and adding in a 2TB secondary drive it's been a very good experience. When I've had cause to take it with me outside the house, the battery life has been better than expected thanks to AMD SmartShift(?).

I bought it as a desktop replacement to an aging 6700k desktop with a GTX 970. My biggest fear was that it wouldn't be nearly as quiet, and if I am gaming, it isn't.

But moderate daily use like Youtube, watching Twtich, browsing on Firefox, Microsoft Office, light gaming like Heartstone or .IO games, it's not much louder than ambient. My phone shows it at 32 decibels as I am typing this.

I have it hooked up to a Caltech dock via USB C, and the dock connects the laptop an 3440X1440 display via display-port at 144hz. If you use a lot of devices, you will need a dock or hub or some kind, as like most laptops, this lacks inputs for peripherals.

You gotta swap out the RAM on this unit, the one they ship it with has very low clock speeds I don't exactly now. Also if running with a monitor be sure to output via USB-C for max GPU power.
Outputting HDMI doesn't give max power? What ram do you reccomend? I heard this requires a specific kind of ram.

Pretty good laptop with some compromises. I picked up the QHD version a few weeks back. No webcam and you'll probably have to replace the RAM. Mine came with the slower RAM. I upgraded it to 64GBs. No MUX switch either but I usually attach to my external monitor with the USB-C DP cable. Battery life is pretty good. Ports are somewhat sparse so you may want a dock. Usually connected tto my 34400x1400 display via display port/USB-C port.

Benchmarks im getting about 11K in Timespy. 14-15K in Firestrike Extreme

Something this generation of Asus Gaming laptops missed. No Webcam built in. While it's for gaming o course, I planned to use it for work as well, having to keep an external webcam as well seemed stupid.

My understanding is the HDMI does not connect directly to the GPU. Only the USB-C which supports Display Port 1.4 does. There is no Mux switch on this laptop so to get the full power you need a USB-C to DP1.4 cable to output to a monitor.

I upgraded the RAM to 64GB using RAM G.Skill RipJaws Series 64GB (2 x 32GB) 260-Pin SO-DIMM PC4-25600 DDR4 3200 CL22-22-22-52 1.20V Dual Channel Memory Model F4-3200C22D-64GRS

I have it and I get low fps if my power or armory crate settings are set to silent.

This thing is amazing when it works, especially since you can update power profiles on the go for more fps or less noise. Obligatory had to re-paste but it was straight forward.

I wouldn't pay $1400 for it.. Shame the open box is not available at 1000....
Don't go for the open box. Those are usually the ones with quality issues and you will likely end up returning it. I purchased a new in Aug and still doing great

I have owned both and returned the legion 5 pro and kept this. The only thing the legion has better is the screen, otherwise this laptop blows it out of the water imo
