Start with the original trilogy, that gives you a good feel for the gameplay. Apollo Justice adds in some new things but it wouldn't make much sense without the initial trilogy. Great Ace is a completely different series and style, less slapstick than the first games. If you want to make the most of your switch hardware, go there, but really, do the trilogy on switch first.

Ugh, just paid full price for the Ace Attorney games last week aside from Dual Destinies which I had bought on sale years ago. Was doubtful there would be another sale and wanted to make sure I owned them.
Pretty sure you can link your 3DS and Switch accounts together so that the balance is shared between them. I had some leftover credit from an Atlus 3DS sale earlier this year and did that. Used the remaining balance to grab some indie Switch games on sale.
Oh wow. I never had a Network ID on the 3DS so maybe I can sign up for one now and link them? I had to call a few minutes ago as I entered the wrong age on accident for age verification and I couldn't buy anything (quick search said the only way to reset it is to call). They couldn't do anything since I didn't have an account but I restarted the console and that worked out lol.
I checked out onimusha ~ Link to DD for price history https://www.dekudeals.com/items/o...a-warlords. You can also find the metcritic link on the DD page - this matches current low but the deal happens frequently, so no need to pick up now unless playing now. Thanks for the post!

Don't see why not. I got a 3DS hand-me-down that was factory reset only 2-3 years ago, and only got a Switch over Christmas. I'm way behind on both fronts. But I did manage to do both and ultimately link them together.

Great tip! Just got my funds linked. Not sure if I'll ever go back to the 3DS though I've had the system for many many years (and still backlogged). Barely got a Switch just last year myself.
Would you still be able to download them after the shop shuts down?
According to Nintendo:
Even after late March 2023, and for the foreseeable future, it will still be possible to redownload games and DLC, receive software updates and enjoy online play on Wii U and the Nintendo 3DS family of systems.

The one thing that isn't explicit is that after you link the accounts there's a setting somewhere on the Nintendo account to have to click to to actually link the funds in the accounts. I don't remember exactly where to do that
Yeah! You show 'em! They'll surely change their ways now that someone on the internet is mad!
Oh, I'm sure my stance one won't change anything. But I'm just stating aloud my feelings to the community here. I decided long ago that I won't buy things digitally from Nintendo if their consoles have separate stores and ecosystems. It is ridiculous, especially compared to Microsoft and Sony practices.

Agree! I have these as physical games and they cost me a pretty penny via eBay.
