Thanks Slickdeals Staff Member FabulousOstrich1300 for sharing this deal

About this Product:
  • 20 assorted succulents in 2" pot. Each plant may vary from pictures shown as plants are hand selected based on season, size, health, and readiness.
  • Succulents are extremely sensitive to overwatering and damp soil can cause root rot. Dry out soil completely between waterings. Recommended amount is once every two weeks. Tip: top inch of soil should feel dry before watering again.
  • Fertilize every two to four weeks during spring and summer. Withhold fertilizer during the fall and winter months.
  • Use well-draining soil. Regular potting soil or dirt will not do. Use cactus soil/mix or potting soil with sand/pumice/perlite. Allow approximately 6 hours of sun per day. Gradually give plant more sunlight each day.

This was a few cents less in the past, but with inflation, the price is competitive.

Be careful what URL you use. I see this priced as $31.97 on one URL.

Price should be $27.99 on this URL:

https://www.amazon.com/Shop-Succu...01LXPI743/ > now $28.99
If you purchase something through a post on our site, Slickdeals may get a small share of the sale.

This is less per succulent than the fake ones I just bought at ikea lol
Succulents:

1) You need to buy special succulent soil or regular soil + perilite. The soil needs to be fast draining to mimic the sandy desert terrain

2) Only water when the soil is completely dry, stick your finger or an object through the first 0.5 inches, should be completely dry.

3) Water well, place in a buck of water for a few ours or drench it. DON'T get water on the leaves, because they are desert plants, they don't absorb through their leaves. Standing water on the leaves could create mold.

4) Direct sunlight, however when they are young or repotted minimize it a little.

Not sure what I am doing wrong but all of my succulents seem to die pretty quickly. I bought a similar package from Amazon last year and 20 of 20 died within 2 months or so. I have a house full of thriving plants, so not a novice here... are succulents just harder to keep alive?

I bought these about a year ago. All of them are dead, but then again all my plants die

It might be the plant source, but yes, succulents are very different from standard plants. They (ideally) require succulent dirt, and a much different watering schedule (basically, only water every couple of weeks, and when you do, drown them as you want to imitate the drenching rain that happens every blue moon.) I've known owners to literally drown the plants on watering day by submerging them in buckets Confused But this is just second hand info from friends that do succulents and the wife. I personally only grow cannabis and spider plants which are ridiculously easy to grow.

I'm no succulent expert, but generally I shoot for a good amount of direct light, and not a lot of water. A window in a bathroom might be a good place to forget about them for a month or so at a time.
