Just an FYI if you're just getting this for the "free" tablet. The tablet is a Galaxy A7 lite which only costs $200 ($129 on Amazon)

They will still lock you to a 2 year EIP even if it's free (They'll make a monthly credit to cover the tablet EIP)

Meaning you'd end up paying $10 for 2 years ($240) for a $129 tablet.

So if you're only doing it for the tablet then it's not worth it

Samsung Galaxy Tab A7 Lite got to be the worst tablet in 2022, it is so sluggish that you spend more time waiting than actually doing anything useful with it, it's so much slower than Amazon Fire tablets.

Do not get the tablet since you will be locked in for 24 months of bill credit on a worthless marked up T-mobile locked tiny tablet

Is it that bad? Maybe I shouldn't waste my EIP on this tablet. Which T-Mobile tablet would you recommend? I think I need to stick with Android tablets if want to use Netshare app.

It's pretty laggy, but a SIM slot is valuable.

I tried doing it your way too at first, ran into the same issue, and was confused. Then I tried removing that package from my cart and re-added the tablet but included the other $10 plan (the one where you pay taxes) and that's when the promotion was applied in the cart. I suggest trying that out.

Network routing is way way way less labor intensive than opening a web page natively. That should be fine. Routing via netshare is something my watch could do without slowing down.

Alright, so I got the Samsung Tab A7 lite delivered. But it looks like T-Mobile has their own flavor of Samsung's Android OS on there and on bootup, it prevents you from doing ANYTHING until you have the T-Mobile sim card in there. Any way to get around it?

I'm using the SIM for a relative's phone already, and don't intend on using it for the tablet.

Update: popping the SIM into the Franklin T9 test drive device drops me to 3G on the display, but I can't even get any data. Putting it in the TMOHS1 test drive device (the newer one) keeps me at 4G and pulls a solid signal - I even doubled my data rate to 30MBPS on a speed test.

I don't know if the TMOHS1 is pulling from my hotspot allotment or my general unlimited data bucket. Anyone know how to check hotspot usage vs. data? On my dashboard under data, all data is still showing as 'web usage'. If it's hotspot, does it show as 'hotspot'?

Update: The Franklin T9 shows as a 'modem' on an online IMEI checker. The TMOHS1 shows as 'phone'. That might be what's up.
