Just an FYI if you're just getting this for the "free" tablet. The tablet is a Galaxy A7 lite which only costs $200 ($129 on Amazon)

They will still lock you to a 2 year EIP even if it's free (They'll make a monthly credit to cover the tablet EIP)

Meaning you'd end up paying $10 for 2 years ($240) for a $129 tablet.

So if you're only doing it for the tablet then it's not worth it
Some people don't live in a house.
Not on the "free" tablet, lol. In all seriousness, don't choose the plan with TE in the title as that one is tax exclusive (you have 2 choices)

soc code ZB10HSTI is the one you want.

Thanks so much!

So, M2000-$120+ Unlock service-$150 + Powerful wireless router is the best way to reach real 5G speed around 400-800Mbps for home internet?

Its because its LTE only, which is much, much slower than 5G UC.
You will probably see 20-50mbps on that setup.

Yes, but you would of course need to have a 5G UC tower in your area to get those speeds.

An option I'm thinking is a rooted 5G phone, run the VPN on the phone and USB Tether it to the Mango, and then connect that to the Ethernet.

Since the VPN will be running on the phone and not on the mango, shouldn't that get high speeds or will the mango still be a bottleneck?
Why does the phone have to be rooted? What changes do you need to make on the phone?

Thanks!

The listing is a bit incorrect as there is no 2 year contract with TMHI and also, this setup will only see a fraction of the speed TMHI is capable of (800 mbps or so with 5G UC tower).

That said, it will work with this plan.
I have a spare TM-AC1900 laying around - do you know what I need to do to change the TTL on it to bypass hotspot limit? With this I could just USB tether from any 5g mobile phone, right? Thanks!

So if on the Tmobile account page internet usage showing up as "Web Access" does that mean it's counted as regular data, not hotspot data? BTW the Tmobile Business account website is dogshit, everything takes a day and half to load for me.

In order to run VPN on the phone and not on the router.

Not sure. I'm in a 5G UC zone and I'm getting max 45mb and tried a couple vpns. This is on a phone.

Why do you need root to run VPN on the phone?

Max 45mb On a 5G phone in a 5G UC? It is so weird.

Tower could be overloaded, or other priority data like magenta max data is pushing your speeds down.

Alright just adding another DP here:

Bought a TMOHS1 for $40 off eBay, put in the sim card and did the root/mod from the Github link to turn off OTA updates and TTL masking. Connected my laptop last night and let it run Youtube all night (or until my laptop when to sleep). T-Mobile account page shows that last night alone I used 13GBs of data, but everything is categorized as "Web Access" which I take to mean regular device data, not hotspot since I was only supposed to get 10GBs of hotspot traffic.

Not the fanciest solution, and the hotspot does have some limitations like no 5G, no ethernet port, and cannot run without a battery inside despite a charger plugged in, but you can't do much better than this on a budget for true unlimited data.

You don't. I thought root was for tethering. I use EasyTether, which doesn't require root, but costs $10. I think there's a free tether option if you're rooted.

That link was for T9, not TMOHS1. For TMOHS1, you cannot change the settings. What you can do is to USB tether to a router that supports USB tethering
Can you give more information? Does this hide the IMEI from T-mobile? Won't they still see that the SIM card is accessing data through the Wingtech TMOHS1, regardless of whether or not it is USB tethered to a router?
