Just an FYI if you're just getting this for the "free" tablet. The tablet is a Galaxy A7 lite which only costs $200 ($129 on Amazon)

They will still lock you to a 2 year EIP even if it's free (They'll make a monthly credit to cover the tablet EIP)

Meaning you'd end up paying $10 for 2 years ($240) for a $129 tablet.

So if you're only doing it for the tablet then it's not worth it

Not on the "free" tablet, lol. In all seriousness, don't choose the plan with TE in the title as that one is tax exclusive (you have 2 choices)

soc code ZB10HSTI is the one you want.

Is the M2100 better than M2000? I forgot which model Tmobile uses - might be better to use the one they don't utilize.

I asked in a previous reply, so don't mean to spam, but got inspired when I saw your specific mention of the M2100 --- does it have advantages over the Franklin T9 or M2000? Faster speeds?
The M2000 is locked to T-Mobile. The M2100 is sold by Verizon and comes network unlocked. My primary cell provider is Verizon, and I switch between service providers based on cost and use, and I also use my cellular hotspots when I travel internationally. I haven't tried the M2100 bands for international travel, but hopefully it will be fine, otherwise I'll just use my cell phone as a hotspot while international.

I returned my M2000 and kept the M2100 based on my specific needs. The M2000 will probably be faster for T-Mobile-specific data plans.

I have worked with Rich Hathaway..... He has a custom FW for the m2000. Works great! Pulling over 700mbps with single digit jitter, and pings in the low teens to single digits.... He also cloned my iemi, so as far as tmobile goes, I'm using my tablet with all data reporting as on device.

Are there step-by-step instructions on how to do this? Thanks

You'll need to get in touch w/ Rich Hathaway..... I worked with him to mod my m2000. See post above for results.

I have the sim in Winegard in my RV. It works great. All the data shows up as 'Web Access' but my net slowed down after 10 GB. I asked TMobile FB chat what's going on an they said even though it says 'Web Access', they can see it as hotspot data. So the web access part doesn't mean much in my opinion. Are you getting high speed internet still?
Thanks for that info. I havent been able to try anywhere else besides my home and I'm getting more or less the same speed depending on time of the day.

Just tested again ... power it on with the battery & cable plugged in and then pull the battery.

fwiw, an interesting side-note is that it didn't work with a usb-c PD cable that I use for powering my laptop.
Are you using it with the charger/cable that it came with? I've tried a few different cable/port combinations and none of them are working.

Did you run the root utility? Its supposed to mask the usage type.

My understanding is that since the m2000 is the model used by tmobile, it is optimized for their network and bands. I flashed the VZ FW to my m2000 and had substantially worse performance all around....
And is the m2000 better than the Franklin T9 or TMOHS1?

It does work for me with the charger/cable that came with it. Also works with two other random sets of cables/chargers I tried. And as I mentioned, the hotspot doesn't seem to recognize any of my usb-c PD cables/chargers.

I can't root Winegard. It is a RV internet antenna.

If you need high download speed and live gaming, m2000 maybe your choice but cost(round $300 with 3rd FW). If just watch 4K videos for one device, T9 or Tmo1 is enough.

I'm sure I have some of the explanation wrong but you're going to have to set the TTL (time to live) settings such that data appears to be from on that device. Most phones (or tablets for this tablet plan) have TTL of 64 so you'll need to set the tethered device's TTL to 65 such that when it passes through your Winegard, it'll have a TTL of 64 and appear as on-device data and not hotspot data.

Whether or not you can do this easily with your router is something you'll have to figure out. Your best bet is to google "winegard ttl", start doing some research, and hope for the best.
Thanks for the info. Unfortunately the Winegard model I have does not allow setting the TTL.

How do you contact Rich Hathaway? Ebay? Or is he a SDer?

Thanks.

YES! It will give you full 5g speeds as opposed to 4g LTE. Basically 50mbps vs. 700mbps with a m2000.
