Just an FYI if you're just getting this for the "free" tablet. The tablet is a Galaxy A7 lite which only costs $200 ($129 on Amazon)

They will still lock you to a 2 year EIP even if it's free (They'll make a monthly credit to cover the tablet EIP)

Meaning you'd end up paying $10 for 2 years ($240) for a $129 tablet.

So if you're only doing it for the tablet then it's not worth it
Some people don't live in a house.
Not on the "free" tablet, lol. In all seriousness, don't choose the plan with TE in the title as that one is tax exclusive (you have 2 choices)

soc code ZB10HSTI is the one you want.

I'm guessing the Asus should work just fine with USB-C tethering to get past the on-hotspot 10GB limit. There were others on this thread that used other routers (besides the Mango), phones, and laptops and went past the 10gb limit when tethered via USB. There weren't too many others (maybe just you and me?) that have gone with the M2100 route. My main reasons: 1) I am also using Verizon, so the M2100 is great for me to swap between Verizon and T-Mobile, and 2) I've done the rooting/custom firmware route in the past, and it's just more trouble than I want right now, especially when there are software updates; I just want simple plug and play at this point in my life. I don't know which bands are being used. I think Rich H may be one of the few people that can tell based on getting to the log files written to the device.
So i just tested m2100 to asus ac1900 via usbc. it would detect it as novatel m2100 and router screen admin page would refresh page again and then showing no device found ? i tried 3 different usbc cables with the same result. i tried both usb+ wifi and usb connection setting on m2100 and all the same thing. Any tips ?

on the side note, i logged into my tmobile.com account and im not seeing any hotspot usage ? there is data usage which i assuming its the tablet unlimited data ? and there is data pass 0.00GB
of 97.66GB high speed data pass

not sure the differences between those 2. i guess its a good sign since i am only able to test internet via m2100 wifi connections

You got your SIM already?

Shouldn't be any Data Pass …. You must have visited a TMobile store associate.

i called 877-590-4728 direct line for tmobile business and this time rep knew exactly which plan right after i said tablet plan. she said $10 plan right. i was like, how did you know ? you have done this before ? she was like yea, bunch of people called in and mentioned the promo plan from reddit, LOL (good thing those people didnt say slickdeals)
so i gave her the spare sim i have lay around and i was up and running in 30 mins. Then i called the same # back again to have HD pass added. tmobile store would be last option as i hate to pay $30 fee.

I "created"" the account online, but had to add lines elsewhere.

Yes, that's why it shows datapass with xx/yy gb, because that line has HDPASS.

First, it's good news that your M2100 detects the router as a device that supports USB. It sounds like your M2100 is working correctly. When I plug my M2100 into the Mango router, I wait for the M2100 to show me the USB connection options, and I usually only select the USB tether only. On the Mango, I remembered during my first attempts I needed to go to the router admin page and select an option to start the data tethering, but I haven't had to do that recently.

I'm not sure how the ASUS router operates, so I'm sorry I can't help you there.

I was up all night tried to figured out why asus router wouldnt detect m2100 and it seems like i needed to flash merlin firmware to it to make it work. Anyway, i went and bought mango's little brother GL.iNet GL-AR300M16 since i read it that the brother has faster chip ? Also ran into issues where GLInet router was giving half speed. Reset the router couple more times and i am now getting 80mb down, 9mb up. my setup is m2100 to GLinet router to asus router since asus router has better wifi signals.

Cheers

I'm late to the party. I've gone through 50 pages out of 176 and still a bit confused.
If I already have a consumer account I can't use my SSN to "create" a business account online. I'll have to go to a store and ask them to add a business under something called BAN?
Is my understanding correct?

You'll likely need to obtain an EIN (free) from the IRS and take a printout of the EIN to the store. The backoffice may have to research the business online to verify - I did a free Google My Business account for that business.
