Just an FYI if you're just getting this for the "free" tablet. The tablet is a Galaxy A7 lite which only costs $200 ($129 on Amazon)

They will still lock you to a 2 year EIP even if it's free (They'll make a monthly credit to cover the tablet EIP)

Meaning you'd end up paying $10 for 2 years ($240) for a $129 tablet.

So if you're only doing it for the tablet then it's not worth it
Some people don't live in a house.
Not on the "free" tablet, lol. In all seriousness, don't choose the plan with TE in the title as that one is tax exclusive (you have 2 choices)

soc code ZB10HSTI is the one you want.

I have the same router as you, youdontknowmeeh.
Did you do any changes to default numbers?
I did not do anything, except changed TTL to custom/65.
Where you have to look for info on what data router uses, native or hotspot?
I changed the TTL to 64. I don't know what custom/65 does.

I opened a T-mobile account and viewed it there. It shows up as on device data instead of hotspot data in the screen

Gateway: Discount via $50 instant rebate on full price of $99.99 when you sign up for Home Internet for Metro. Gateway cannot be unlocked for use on other networks.
So $99.99 minus $50 = $49.99 plus Tax to purchase the ARC Gateway. First month of service is free.

Surprised the Iphone 14 won't have a sim slot, I like being able to pop in the tmobile sim and keep primary line on esim.

Now I'll need to move the $10 line to esim and then it's kind of locked to my phone, not sure what to do, I like having the hotspot but not carrying it.

Sorry, TTL is 64 as well on my router.
Usage type - web access, device - unknown on my online account..
I also enable open VPN access, no changes in speed, not sure why I need it.
Speeds: 10-20 mbps, fast.com - 6-7.
Connected Cuby directly to Smart TV with CAT5 for my wife to watch streaming service (we have 5 mbps cable, works great for my needs).
Not happy with it - have some buffering anyway. Probably need to implement some additional changes in Cuby.

I am very interested in trying this. Does T-Mobile also ships the router for $50? Or we have to do it through Metro? Do I need to get a metro cell line or just go to the store (it is quite a drive), and buy the first month free along with the $50 modem and be done with it?
Once the month is over, can the plans be cancelled? If so, do we keep the gateway? Do they want it back? Are we charged for it? Since a voice plan is needed, if we cancel that after the first month do they want the phone back? Or charge full price for it? Could go with a $10 SIM and bring my own phone, but that costs more and you don't get a phone. As I see it now Metro's lowest single line plan is $30/mo. Phone would be free. T-Mobile gateway would be $50 with free month of service. That's $80 plus taxes. It all hinges on what happens after that month ends. Anyone know?

Yes, you are looking at $80 plus taxes. Likely around $95 in total.

I am using with my Chromebook too, btw. I have the enterprise version of the 513 Spin Acer with 8Gb of RAM with Qualcomm 7C Gen 1 LTE model. I think it has LTE X15 modem. In my area ( Fairfax, VA ) I pull average 90-120, sometimes 150 at home down and about 30-60 up. I hope this was helpful!

I think it was around 50 mbps or something, I didn't use it much, just moved it to a hotspot...

No, posters on that SD thread have already successfully done and tested.

I don't see anything about paying for the gateway on the Metro site, they do mention paying for the PHONE if you cancel early. On the T-mobile site they do want the gateway back or charge for it if you cancel it. Has anyone had the Metro gateway longer than a month after cancelling the service? This could be a huge dealbreaker if Metro charges a bunch to keep it.
