Just an FYI if you're just getting this for the "free" tablet. The tablet is a Galaxy A7 lite which only costs $200 ($129 on Amazon)

They will still lock you to a 2 year EIP even if it's free (They'll make a monthly credit to cover the tablet EIP)

Meaning you'd end up paying $10 for 2 years ($240) for a $129 tablet.

So if you're only doing it for the tablet then it's not worth it

Not on the "free" tablet, lol. In all seriousness, don't choose the plan with TE in the title as that one is tax exclusive (you have 2 choices)

soc code ZB10HSTI is the one you want.

Possibly bad news. I was traveling in Denver this week. I used the Orbic 5G with Wi-Fi (not Ethernet and no intermediate router), and I ran out of data. I got a text warning at "80%" of data and then another text warning at "100%" of data, with the second text stating that my data will now be slowed down (600kbps) until next month, unless I switch the sim back to my "smartphone" (really, my tablet).

Interesting datapoint. On my iPhone connected via Wi-Fi to my Orbic 5G, Speedtest shows 0.4mbps down and up, but Fast.com is still reporting 6.6mbps down and 3mbps up. It looks like I can still watch fast HD-quality Netflix/Hulu even though I've gone past the 10gb of wireless hotspot data.

I'm going to test the sim in my M2100 sometime this weekend.
==> Speedtest in the M2100 = 12mbps down/ 2mbps up
==> speeds are faster in the M2100 but speed seems a bit throttled compared to what I should be seeing in my house, but it's still better than 0.4mbps down/up.
That's unfortunate to hear and strange. I have been heavily using my Orbic 5G over the last few weeks through many states (PA/NJ/NY) without any throttling or issues. Interestingly the display shows I used 91gb, while the website says 46gb, it's like it's double counting.

Hotspot usage is still at 0 on the tmobile website.

I'm really curious what triggered the data issue for you.

edit : Also in a week I'll be travelling internationally to Europe with the device, curious to see what will happen.

It cost $800 for new?
The Dish Project Genesis one is $350 + $20 for the first month of sevice + tax.

But it sounds as if I would also have to get it unlocked. Which will probably cost money as well.

I have already ordered an Orbic 5G though. It's coming Monday.

Can you keep us updated on the mobile hotpsot usage? If it's counting as hotspot data usage now, I won't even open the one I ordered when it gets here.

Google the android app "vpnhotspot" on github which makes all traffic look like it came from the device but creates a wifi hotspot..is free, open source and doesn't require root.

Thanks, I just tried vpnhost by Mygod on an unlocked flip 4, and it counted as hotspot data. I only did it over wifi though.

It's OK. I don't mind using the hotspot.

It's still at 0 as of right now, that's why I was curious why the other person has issues, my experience has been flawless.

if u got that message approved for 0 lines from tmobile online, it just meant tmobile has your application. you need to call in to have them find your application and process it manually to sign you up for this tablet plan

Glad to hear it's still working for you. I'm going to try using the M2100 heavily next month and then go back to the Orbic.

I bought a Nok 5g21 and a gl.inet router. Do I just pop the SIM into the Nok and connect the gl.inet router via ethernet and change the TTL to 68 or 66?

I decided to take this deal with the tablet. I dont see the discounts in the email receipt but hopefully they will show up in next months bill. I also cant seem to make a login for the business site but I have an account number from the email. Is there a way to chat with them without being logged in? I tried calling the other day and got put on hold for 30 min+ so i hung up.

You can't sign up on the business side. Have to do it on the personal side. Use the number associated with tablet and your email.

About it. I just applied online again and got approved, not sure what happened first time. Maybe using an email that was associated with T-Mobile awhile ago.

They had no record of that and I tried to do it over phone but was taking forever and got disconnected. Maybe easier to do it over the phone but I tried online again, got approved.

Try downloading tmobile app in the tablet and just create an account. You'll see your phone number, usage, device, and bill.
